Troon Links - Fullarton
About
The Troon Links - Fullarton sits just minutes from Royal Troon Golf Club's links and comes in at a relatively short 5,000 yards, making it appropriate for newer golfers or a quick warm-up.
The Troon Links - Fullarton is uplands links and features narrow fairways that undulate and are guarded by heather and gorse. The long hole comes first, measuring 434 yards, and six par-3 holes require precision rather than power.
Many golfers golf the Troon Municpal Fullarton Course in tandem with Lochgreen or Darley. Others, such as women and short-gamers, choose just these 18 holes.

Good for a fast round
Course in very good condition - dry, running fairways but greens holding well.
Sunshine and moderate breeze.
Short and slow
Booked in to play Fullarton as an extra round as playing Lochgreen as well. Probably should have given it a miss.
Knew the course was short and thought be good to nip around quickly after Lochgreen as had some spare time to kill so booked a hot deal round for it.
After managing to nip round Lochgreen quickly as was first out and solo - I spoke to the team about getting out earlier on Fullarton and they were able to slot me in amongst the member times as some members had moved between courses etc. super grateful to the team for both allowing me to do so and for finding me a time. Unfortunately meant I was back out alone again for a second round but after enjoying my first round on Lochgreen so much I wasn’t too bothered.
However, starting on second tee - I proceeded to spend 5mins at every tee waiting for the members in front of me. I had a pair behind me as well putting pressure on coming up behind me on most tees and I could see at times the pair behind them being the same. Was never offered to play through disappointedly (or even play with?!?) A big issue was being a short course with a lot of drivable par 4s I had to revert to hitting irons off the tee just to keep moving as waiting 5 mins every tee time was getting ridiculous.
Pretty much ruined the experience as playing solo and standing around waiting for every tee shot - lot of people knows how that will feel - but worse when they’re hitting -100 yard shots each time and then time spent searching for balls. Definitely a course played by less experienced and older golfers - personally I probably won’t play it again unless first tee time given the chances of being very slow. Having said that was still off in 3 hours but having played around Lochgreen which is probably 50% longer in around 2hours 30 - suggests how much time was spent hanging about.
Fair amount of gorse and heather on the course which adds some challenge to offset its length but then also slows everything down and then a lot of greens below 300 yards can be pretty slow being amongst groups.
Greens were in great condition - smaller and need accuracy to get in tight. Overall a decent course to tack on if playing Darley or Lochgreen but wouldn’t go out of the way to play. For the price would rather pay the bit extra for the other courses here as Fullarton borders more on the pitch n putt type.
Great course
This was a great course to play however was unfortunately ruined by other golfers on the course hurrying us along to play our game quicker even though the course was busy and we were only 1 hole behind the guys who we were following throughout our round , ruined the experience for us , the staff were brilliant the pre round breakfast we got was brilliant and the golf buggy was excellent made the day for us ⛳👏👍
Great value
First time playing the Fullarton course for many years. For mid January it was in great condition, only one temporary green and the 17 others were well prepared and running great. Overall great value and a fun day out.
Fullarton
Good course. Very forgiving. Great value for money
Disappointed
Played Troon courses many times over the years and was looking forward to this round with a mate. Unfortunately the course had switched to winter greens with no notice given to myself when booking was made. As we were playing the Fullerton course which is a relatively short course to start with, with the winter greens and also winter tee offs in place the course basically became a glorified pitch and putt, so much so that a par 4 of roughly 248 yards was now only playing 95 yards 🙄...
Think people should be made aware at time of booking so you know what to expect
Great little course
A really nice and tight little course. All in great condition especially the greens
Good value
Decent course plenty challenges.
Greens in good condition. Pretty busy but didnt slow down play.
Troon Fullerton
A beautiful day and friendly staff quick and efficient service upon arrival a 3 hour round which was ideal pace of play excellent...my only disappointment is that the 8th hole is still using a winter green as it appears the normal green is not Ready yet but this has been like this for at least a couple of months since I played their in April very unhappy that it hasn't been fixed yet
Excellent wee course
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Fullerton Course is a lovely wee course, not to difficult but there is trouble if you stray to far. We had an excellent day.
Fullerton Course, Troon - Excellent wee course
Easy to book. Terrific course. Can be played in 3hours👍
Great club house staff for checking in and facilities. Had a great lunch too.
Highly recommend.
Great course for beginners!
Played my first 18 holes after many years away from the game on the Fullarton course, nice short course but still offered a good challenge. Course was in great sharp as well despite how early in the season it was. Will definitely return again.
