Troon Links - Darley
About
The first Troon Municipal Darley Golf Course dates from about 1910, though the current one, with its original bogey par of 71 opened June 9, 1951.
Troon Links - Darley plays shorter than Lochgreen, meaning a tight round of golf with heather and gorse clogging the edges of several fairways, and an easy enough start makes the tests between the fifth and 15th holes all the more frustrating.
Shoot straight on Troon Links - Darley, as, in addition to the heather and gorse, there's plenty of whin.

Darley
Darley has been changed over the last few years and for the better in my eyes. The fairways as always have a low of rabbit holes/scrapings but course layout makes your mind drift away from fairway conditions
Lovely course
The course is a lovely course, a really good and tricky layout. Combining a links with a heathland feel, unfortunately the greens had been treated but to be fair it wasn’t a massive surprise considering the time of year.
In the summer time when it’s firm I can imagine it’s pretty tricky and lots of bump and runs into the greens definitely required
The starter although trying his best to accommodate myself failed to say that extensive greens maintenance was under way and 15 greens were core tined and sanded. Considering that both Lochgreen and Fullarton were not busy had this been pointed out to me I would have opted for either of the other two courses as they were not getting necessary work done on the day I played.
Great track.
This was my first time playing this track and it was great, greens, fairways were amazing. I’m 110% going back to this course again very soon and I’m sure I will play the other courses they have there too.
Darley
Really impacted by two things.
The pace of play was so slow that three groups walked off behind me after 13 holes
Holes 12-16 are right next to a high school which empties into these holes at lunchtime. There were literally kids everywhere
Course itself is fantastic. Good challenging holes and in great condition. But won’t return due to the above
Horrendous conditions
Was expecting a decent course with the positive reviews, but I have to strongly disagree. Walkways to tees are in terrible condition, the fairways aren’t in the best shape either. Chunks everywhere and difficult to get underneath the ball. Don’t think I’ll be back…ever
Nice Experience, but not our new favourite course
A moderate Course between the first Tee off´s of three courses, crossing a street two times, playing along a railway. The lane‘s are poorly maintained, a lot of rubbish around the tee-off was found each lane. It was nice, but not remarkable.
Darley
First time playing the beast that is Darley. Familiar start and finishing having played Lochgreen umpteen times over the last 25 years ...I have to say the darley is superior. Greens were lush and true - quick too! Barely a pitch mark . Tees in good shape also ...fairways scorched in parts proper links feel...personal favourite was the dogleg 8th, the par 3 4th and 7th ...some outstanding golf holes.
Loved it
Troon Darley
Very enjoyable and testing course, greens were immaculately lush but pretty slow on the day. Very reasonably priced food in the clubhouse. Overall great experience.
Darley a challenge
Great course well laid out and prepared. Still some works being carried out but does not impact on the challenge of the course. You have to have full concentration to score on this one, and be hitting long and straight off the tee.
Really enjoyable round and a touch challenge if your golf. Looking forward to have another go soon.
Enjoyed our outing at Troon Links, playing the Darley course. Some shorter yardages, but a testy course overall, and an enjoyable challenge. Course was pretty well kept, barring a few trolley tracks in waste ground bunkers.
Darley troon links
Was a great round of golf. Staff excellent Pro in the shop very friendly and helpful. Could not fault it
Good course
I played this course as my first game of season as I suspected it would still be firm underfoot, which it was.
Greens were in decent condition for this time of year, fairways were a bit untidy, with a lot of divots in places, but for this time of year I am sure there are lots of courses in far worse condition.
The clubhouse looks great, and prices are very reasonable, pity it closed at 5, otherwise we would have used it when we finished.
Overall it is a good course and the drainage is excellent, I will be back.
Value for money
Cracking course really enjoyed it for mid handicap
Course
Condition of the course was good despite all the rain.
Troon Darley
Ive been coming to Troon for golf for many years. The layout has changed and the course is going through some improvements which should enhance the enjoyment.
The greens were great for the time of year and the Darley was still a good test of golf in the prevailing wind. A four ball in front let us through and we got round in 3 hours which was great.
The cafe service and club staff are excellent. I will definately come back.
