Troon Links - Darley
About
The first Troon Municipal Darley Golf Course dates from about 1910, though the current one, with its original bogey par of 71 opened June 9, 1951.
Troon Links - Darley plays shorter than Lochgreen, meaning a tight round of golf with heather and gorse clogging the edges of several fairways, and an easy enough start makes the tests between the fifth and 15th holes all the more frustrating.
Shoot straight on Troon Links - Darley, as, in addition to the heather and gorse, there's plenty of whin.

Great days golf
True links golf, testing layout, green in great condition. Time to get back to rakes in bunkers and removing flags when putting. Staff need to improve their attitude although pro shop staff are great. If you have never golfed here it’s a must, and a must return. Lochgreen and Darley are great tracks.
pete's game
a good course marred by some unnecessary work on the 9th, 10th and 11th holes. Why on earth have they ripped out all the gorse, heather and broom?
Not so great
Not sure if the work done to the course has been delayed due to covid but not overly great condition for now and wondering if they are changing layout.
A lot of walking, just hard to enjoy, I would say a tough test also.
Good Links Golf
Good challenging links course slightly let down back the lack of sign posts to the next tee and no numbers on the tee boxes, we seen several groups getting lost and teeing off the 12th hole instead of the 9th etc. Huge numbers of divots on the tee boxes needing repaired
Worth every penny
Enjoyed
Greens were kept long for frost protection they will be fantastic once the heat comes well done to the green keepers.
I went round in 3hours 5 min with my sons not bad for a 66 year old .
I can’t stand slow players they spoil it for every one behind them it’s time they take up fishing.
Greens longer than my hair!!!! Very slow and pointless putting on. Dandelions everywhere. Could be so much better. Shame.
Good Course
Good course. Good condition. Signposting for holes over the road could be better.
Great course
Great variety of holes, all the par 3s where brilliant looking holes. Need more signage going to the second hole. If you’ve not played the course before you want have a clue how to get to the second tee. Great course apart from that
