About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Golfer Reviews
Course conditions
Tee boxes: need better care, leveling, grass cut down. Teeing from blues felt like hitting from first cut of rough.
Fairways: should be more leveled. One shouldn’t feel penalized for hitting the fairway. Too many unnecessary mounds or weird up/downhill lies in the middle of the fairway. Not hitting the fairway you’re 99% guaranteed of losing a ball.
The course is hard as it is. Why not make the fairways fair? Level out the tee boxes? Oh, the pins are usually placed on top of a mound. That make a lot of sense.
Great Public Course
First time playing here and I’ll definitely be back. The course seemed a little beat from the heat, but overall was in good condition. The elevation changes and layout of the course made it very challenging but fun.
Riddled with slow play overwatered fairways
It’s a great layout with lots of potential… place is so slow Always 5 hrs on weekends.. fairways overwatered … been there 2x and they are always 10-15 mins behind from the start. The Resturant is good good staff home of the bugerdog
1st timers
Everyone was awesome and as difficult as it was it was beautiful!
Challenging & Beautiful!
This is a wonderful course with elevation changes. It’s well maintained and has a great natural beauty with all the trees and wildflowers. Put it on your list to play!
Hidden jewel.
Apple Mountain is simply the most beautiful course in the Sacramento region. Turf maintenance is excellent, not crowded- you can stop and smell the roses.
Perfect day for us.
Pace was a little slower than expected but it was perfect for me due to how health conditions after the heart surgery. Perfect weather and friendly people helped us to enjoy the outing. We had a rare double birdies and the score was good too. Good maintenance of the course overall made this course a park environment. As I mentioned a few times before, this course is one of the most beautiful courses that we have played throughout the world. That includes Korea, Thailand, Carolinas and Georgia. Of course, it was some years ago and I am sure there are more beautiful courses than Apple Mountain. Anyway I just enjoy playing this course any time although it is very challenging but there is that much reward.
Beautiful course
This is the most beautiful course in Northern California. Here in the foothills but the flora looks like Hawaii. No straight forward holes, beautifully manicured..
Always a fun track
One of my favorite courses. Not a driver course. Make sure your iron game is on or you will lose lots of balls. Greens are typically fast, they running slower than usual and it looked like they got punched recently. Overall, great course and lots of fun
Perfect Day
Very Happy with the course condition. Some of the front 9 greens had been sanded, but it didn't effect the roll. Overall, the course was in good condition.
Wonderfully Challenging
Great course for the price. Has everything to challenge and reward you. It's one of my favorite courses between Tahoe and Bay Area!
