Apple Mountain Golf Resort

Apple Mountain is a special place that I look forward to playing a few times per year especially in the fall. I like to invite friends to play the unique course which is always a great time. It’s the only course where I experienced a desire to golf another round immediately after finishing 18. Highly recommend.

Everything on this mountain course is exaggerated from tee and especially to green where slick and undulating surfaces and brutal pin placements are the norm. I played this course for the first time in several years since I got a great deal but after draining my bag of golf balls into the ever present out of bounds wooded areas, I'm not sure I'll ever come back. Elevation changes are drastic and rarely do you have a lie that isn't on an incline.

its beautifully quiet, breathtaking that will keep you upset for days. greens are a maze trail. towering tee shots. i'm reluctantly pulled here when I get to the area for better but mostly for worse....

Starts off with a great putting green and bunker/chipping area. Great pro shop with nice selection for gear, food and drinks. The course was very challenging and very fun. So many slopes and elevation changes. Lots of wildlife as well. Went on a tuesday afternoon and it was clear the whole round.

My wife an I belong to a private club down the hill but whenever it's closed or has a tournament on, we come back to Apple Mtn. It's a cross between being in the Redwoods and Kauai.

What a fun and wierd course so many elevation changes its almost ridiculous. If you have never played here before then play with someone who has. It's a wild ride for sure, its short but the hills and dog legs make it feel a lot longer.

Apple Mountain is a beautiful course, in a gorgeous setting. The course is in the best condition I’ve seen since I started playing there ten years ago.

Make no mistake, AM is also one of the most challenging courses you’ll ever play. Winding through a forest of tall pine trees, running streams and plush vegetation creates many a hazard to the newbie.

If you’re ever near Placerville, and have your clubs, Apple Mountain is an absolute must! You definitely owe it to yourself!

I arrived early so I had a delicious lunch at the restaurant, the fries were the best I’ve had in over 40 years and the club sandwich was fabulous.

This place is a hidden gem. As you drive in you will be surprised there is even a course in there. Challenging elevation changes and constant slopes offer a unique experience for all skill levels. Conditions were good, tee boxes can leave a little to be desired, but they are not horrible.

The tee boxes are either wet or completely hacked up.

Tee boxes: need better care, leveling, grass cut down. Teeing from blues felt like hitting from first cut of rough.

Fairways: should be more leveled. One shouldn’t feel penalized for hitting the fairway. Too many unnecessary mounds or weird up/downhill lies in the middle of the fairway. Not hitting the fairway you’re 99% guaranteed of losing a ball.

The course is hard as it is. Why not make the fairways fair? Level out the tee boxes? Oh, the pins are usually placed on top of a mound. That make a lot of sense.

First time playing here and I’ll definitely be back. The course seemed a little beat from the heat, but overall was in good condition. The elevation changes and layout of the course made it very challenging but fun.

It’s a great layout with lots of potential… place is so slow Always 5 hrs on weekends.. fairways overwatered … been there 2x and they are always 10-15 mins behind from the start. The Resturant is good good staff home of the bugerdog
