Apple Mountain Golf Resort
About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Nice Course
I enjoy playing this course, but honestly the pin placements seemed to be done by someone who doesn’t play golf! The greens are already challenging , so placing pins where they were located was absolutely ridiculous!
Beautimous
Fantastic Mountain course don’t need to say much more
Still the best kept secret
Beautiful mountain feeling to this course. In spite of the heat, the fairways and greens were in great shape. We finished our round in 3.5 hours on a weekend! Very friendly staff!
Poor boxes and greens
Tee boxes may have been the worst I have ever played from. Greens below average conditions.
Unfair
Some of the greens are simply unfair, unable to stop a ball near the hole some simply keep rolling off the green. Many tee boxes lack grass.
Great mountain course 😀
Really liked the layout, challenging holes and steep terrain left for skilled shots and target golf. Only pulled out driver on a few holes as you were required to pick your shots to leave yourself a decent approach to the green. Luckily we were paired up with a twosome who had played there before and gave my dad and I helpful tips. Would definitely come back and was well within budget. Thank you Apple Mountain
Hard course but beautiful
Really pretty and really hard course. I’m a newbie and lost many balls but also had a few really great shots. Beautiful hilly course.
Impressed
First time playing up here, played solo and was paired with a local which definitely helped with reading the course. Loved the layout, hot and dry so the fairways were a little less than perfect but I’m not docking them on that. Greens were immaculate and pace of play was perfect. Burger dog at the turn was delicious as was the onion rings. Will definitely try to play here again.
Can’t wait to come back…
This is my new favorite course. It’s a must play if your I. The area!!!
Awesome setting
Best be able to use all the clubs in your bag well here.
Excellent Course
This beautiful mountain course offers so much for a fun day of golf. It’s in excellent shape. It can be enjoyed by average players & more advanced players. We played on a weekday & so there weren’t as many golfers on the course & we played in about 3 hours.
Paradise in the Sierra foothills
Just a short drive east of Sacramento is a gem of a golf course. Apple Mountain is set in a dense forest of pine trees with hills all over. It's a mountain course (think Tahoe, Truckee) without the long drive and exorbitant green fees. The layout is fabulous hitting down and up on at least half of the holes. Fairways and greens are in tip top shape. I paid less than $40 on a Monday and finished my round in just over 3 hours.
