Apple Mountain Golf Resort
About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

A pretty Par 3 Photo submitted by Annapics on 03/19/2013
The course was in excellent condition, pace of play was nice, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. You just don’t wanna get off the fairway makes for a long day and high score.
Top Apple
The course was lush and the greens rolled slow but not bumpy at all. A beautiful day and a great way to spend it. My buddy kept gobbling at the wild turkey’s and they kept talking back to him. Good times great golf.
Apple Mountain Majesty
Tremendous golf course that is groomed to perfection. You can get lost in the scenery and watching the wildlife when trying to figure out which club and target to pick. This is a gem hidden in the ponderosa pines heading to Lake Tahoe. You won’t be disappointed; but, gauge your skill because taking that high risk shot with low probability of making it will leave you blaming the course instead of your course management skills. Great practice areas and a really friendly staff. Mind the cheat sheet the starter offers you. It’s a good guide. Definitely will return.
One of My Favorite Courses
Even though the greens had just been aerated, the course was in terrific shape. Fairways were green and lush, traps were in great shape, and the greens, despite being punched, were still good enough that it didn't ruin the round. I just love the lay-out of this course. It will literally make you hit every club in your bag. And don't let the yardage fool you. It may not be the longest course that you play, but if you're not accurate, it will be one of the toughest. I will go back and play Apple Mountain any time!
Nice-But Tough Course
Very beautiful course, but plan on losing a bunch of balls if you can’t hit the fairways! There are trees, thick rough and water obstacles throughout.
Great course
Greens are sanded right now, but should be in good shape soon. The rest of the course was in great shape. Always a fun course to play!!! Great value for the money!
9 holes
I did not read the fine print. Back nine closed. Front nine recently plugged greens and sanded. If I realized this, I would have played somewhere else.
The lady who checked us in could have been nicer.
Perfect for Scramble
The course is challenging with trees on either side of the narrow fairways. The changes in elevation make it somewhat difficult for club selection, but he greens are great. We played a four person scramble which made for great golf and a much less frustrating round.
Perfect weather and the good pace of the play.
Well managed course and a conscientious pairing of the players made the pace of the play great. Finished the whole course under 4 hours with a lower score than usual. The pro shop staff was very friendly and courteous and , showed a player- centered professionalism. It’s a rare occasion to see these days, especially among many unprofessional golf shop staff. The fairways are well maintained and the sand bunkers were filled with fresh sand. The presence of the wild turkeys made course reminded us of the days when we were playing in Georgia and Carolinas some 30 years ago. Thanks again for your concerns to make the players happy again after the snow letdown a couple of months ago.
Great course
Played here a few times and it’s a very fun and challenging course. It’s in great shape and is a great value. I always play on my way into Tahoe
Great!
Fun and beautiful mountain course that feels like you're really in the woods. Tough course, bring extra balls!
Scenic elevated yees
Awesome snow on several fairways on Feb 1. Back 9 par 4 green closed due to snow. Elevated tees with narrow fairways command straight shoes.
Great Experience
That was a first. Snow on a golf course. Hard to believe they could get the course into as good as condition and to play as well as it did. First time I have hit a green (4' from the pin and couldn't find golf ball. Divot tool wouldn't even penetrate green. (frozen). Had a blast, would do it again in a heart beat..
Shortened course due to snow spots took away fun.
Five holes shortened or altered due to snow spots, taking away the fun of playing golf here. I should have called ahead to find out about the course conditions but trusted the course staff and quite disappointed. The price was low unusually so I should have called the pro shop and I wasn’t the only one. Our playing twosome was not aware of the course conditions and were disappointed as well. The greens were still good and playable but the fairways were very much limited. They could have done better if they had just closed the course for a day or two and put out a notice for closing the course due to snow. It would have been a better business practice.
Beautiful
Absolutely on of the most beautiful places that I have ever played. Snow was on the course so they shortened a few holes to par 3s. All in all a great place to spend 4 hours.
Beautiful
As always the course is beautiful. This time the pin placement was very difficult and the greens ran fast, at least a 10. Chipping was hard, so GR.
