About

Type Resort

Length 6308 yards
Slope 141
Rating 70.2

Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Difficult

Bring lots of balls. The course is not very forgiving to those of us that don’t hit straight and down the middle all the time. The atmosphere is beautiful, green and lush with lots of hills and valleys. The hard part is you rarely are hitting on flat ground. As my golf mates said, the golf course kicked out butt today.

Toughest walk

Enjoyed golfing there, it’s a little difficult for seniors to walk on some holes when it was blocked about 100 yards to the green, very hilly. But we had a fun times.

Good Course

The course and staff were great and amazing. My only complaint was that we were stuck behind multiple groups. We had a group of 4 that took almost 25 minutes for one hole so, being a party of 1 I skipped a hole to pass them only to get yelled at by them for moving a hole ahead of them.

Challenge excepted

Great round friendly staff. They do a good job making you feel like you are part of the family. Only issue is pace of play. Any one who is thinking about a fantastic round at Apple Mountain This is for you if you have lost 5 balls before you t off on 6. You need to remember spending 10 min looking is not helping the golfers behind you give it a min drop a ball and keep the pace. Life is to short to stress a loss ball and if you are plying pro V then that’s on you poor planning over 20 handicap bring cheaper balls

Challenging greens but worth driving 65miles. Rewarding.

Absolutely the best in my golf itinerary, worth driving 130 miles (round trip), even in the heat of 90’s. It’s not difficult to put the ball in the regulation but the putting is very challenging. They are wide and quite undulant. Missed the birdie on half a dozen times so frustrating but hard-earned birdies are the more rewarding. They compensate the hardship of walking up the 30 degree hills. Thank God that I can still walk up the hills, although short, at my age (83). Thanks GolfNow for keeping such wonderful course like Apple Mountain, Yocha Dehe and TPC Harding. They are rewarding for my golf game at this age.
