Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY WORK AT PEBBLE BEACH

Look the course is decent and very beautiful. The problem is with all the people working there. These people think they work at an elite golf club. The vibes are horrible and they are all super rude. I actually got told not to drive on any fairways even on par 4/5s. So if your down to hike 1800 miles in a round then go for it. I had never been told prior that I wasn’t supposed to drive on the course at all so it caught me off guard. Pace of play is horrible and all the 80 year old locals thinks everyone has 7 hours for a round. Overall it’s to bad to because this course is so beautiful but the people that work there need to change. Will no longer be getting my $60!

Excellent Conditions for Winter Season

Despite its location where it can get very cold and possibly snow during the winter, Apple Mountain is in fine conditions this time of year. I found the course to be in better condition than I had expected for winter conditions. I also played an excellent round of golf today, shooting below my handicap index. So it was a real nice day.

From the first tee on, pace of play was a problem for us. There were four gentlemen playing from the same tees and we were playing with a gentleman and his wife . We played three different tees and still waited on most holes. They had a need to watch one another and had no awareness of anyone else around them. Saw the Marshall twice, but he didn’t seem to understand his role on the course.
