Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Tee time was 12:20. Went to the range and was told it was closed Round moving fairy quickly through 9. Got to the 10th and we were the third, yes third group on the tee box. No marshals to be seen. Course was not in top condition.

If your long irons are on you will have a good time! Pretty challenging for the golfer that struggles to get the ball in the air. Big time greens.

Fun Track

Course was a lot of fun...this tough 6300 yard course takes the driver out of your hands and forces you to make golf shots...really liked that. surrounded by the forest on every hole makes this course so beautiful to be part of....lots of elevation changes with gorgeous views around each corner....scenery plus emphasis on making shots makes this course a must play when in the Placerville area...absolutely worth it....

True golf test

Great course for the experienced golfer. Elevated tees and uphill/downhill layout. You really need to know your irons to conquer this course. You will leave the driver in the bag until hole #6. Get used to hitting a 4i or hybrid off the tee before you goto play out there. There are still several holes where you can let the 'big dog eat' and a good drive will reward you. Bottom line - plan on using some good course management.
