Apple Mountain Golf Resort
About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Beautiful mountain course
Play smart and enjoy the views. Only need the driver on a couple of holes.
First time
First time I played here. Beautiful course. They obviously care about the condition of their course which is good. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because they should spread their tee times out because it was packed. People were playing up on me the whole time but I was waiting for the group ahead of me. It’s hard to enjoy the nature and beauty of the course while feeling rushed
GREAT IN THE MOUNTAINS
FIRST TIME THERE. BUT WITH ANTICIPATION AND EXCITEMENT, HAD A NICE LUNCH AND FELLOWSHIP.
THE, GRABBED MY CLUBS, A GOLF CART AND HEADED TO HOLE#1. IT WAS VISUALLY EXCITING AND CHALLAGING TO SHORTEN THIS REVIEW, GREAT MOUNTAIN GOLF AND CAN ‘T WAIT TO GO BACK.
Beautiful Mountain Course
Beautiful course with an excellent range and short game practice area. Played this course just before snow got it, so it's up in the mountain area quite high. Staff friendly, gave me a few tips. Pace of play issue due to most golfers looking for their lost balls on every hole. Best to be short on your shots here, keep everything in front of you. Many balls will land and roll into the wild never to be seen again. Greens were rolling nice, lots of leaves. Would be nice if a grounder could go around and blow the greens in the middle of the day. Highly recommend this course and checking out the area around it (Apple Hill) for the best cider and donuts. Happy Holidays
Best course I’ve played in awhile
This was the second time I’ve played this course. And I was just as blown away by the views the second time around. Highly recommend. Go play now. Get to it!
Hidden gem
While heading to or from the Sierras its nice to have stop of golf location that isn't in the valley flat lands and Apple Mountain is the perfect place. Par 70 but sloped in the 130's make it plenty of challege even for low handicappers. Scenery is awesome and course conditions are much better than courses charging 3 times as much. Also got a good deal on a shirt post round. Put Apple Mountain on your to-do list. I'll be back soon
Special Place
Apple Mountain is like no other course in the Sacramento region nestled in the conifer forests of Apple Hill. The course is always in excellent condition due to its cooler climate at 3,000 feet elevation and well manicured greens and fairways. It has a very chill vibe and is a relaxing experience no matter how you play.
I survived Apple Mountain Golf Course
Great course. Challenging course. Beautiful scenery. Humbling experience when your off the fairway!
Apply Mountain Golf corse
The fair ways were good if you hit them. The greens were better.
Great course to play when temperatures are hot
Apple Mountain is a beautiful and challenging course. We like to play there when it is hot in the Sacramento valley; temperatures are about 10 degrees cooler and there is lots of shade. The course itself is usually well maintained and the ball carries well in the mountain air. The course is tight; you can score well if you keep it in the fairway since it's not exceedingly long but it's also very easy to shoot a high score and lose a few balls along the way. There is a lot of elevation changes so occasionally you'll have some side hill lies. Excellent and friendly staff; good driving range and putting / chipping area. One of my favorite courses.
Difficult
The course was much more difficult than the previous times playing. I had knee surgery in February and it was difficult walking up and down the hills. I have been playing flat courses for the most part until today, and up hill lies , down hill, and side hill lies were much more difficult We played with a couple of local retired teachers, and they kept us on track knowing the course really well. I would love to play the course again after I heal a little bit more from my knee surgery.
Fun
This course was beautiful well maintained everything I expected and more I can’t wsit to get there and play it again thank you so much for a great experience
