Apple Mountain Golf Resort
About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Not 5 stars but ok
Very hilly, blind corners, large up n downs of terrain. Covid golf.
Apple Mountain
This is a wonderful course in a beautiful area of the country. The different hole elevations will mess with your game if you are not used to them. Each side of 9's does have three par 3s which is not typical. Because of the current conditions, the off-course amenities were not really available.
Apple Mountain Golf Resort
Apple Mountain Golf Resort is only an hours drive east of Sacramento.
Checking in at the pro shop was cheerful. After much deliberation I decided to play off the Blue tees (5990 yds) which would push my sometimes dubious golf talents to the limits.
Standing on the first tee was a little daunting looking down at a sliver of fairway made even narrower by tall pines and cedar trees that run the entire length of the hole. It was really satisfying splitting that first fairway. It's all of a 90 foot drop down to the green from the tee on Hole 1.
If it's elevation changes, great scenery and a whole lot of fun you're looking for, you won't have to look much further than this course. Every single hole on the course will provide golfers all of the above. Deciding on which club to pull out of the bag for the next shot was part of the fun playing here.
With six Par 3's on the course there are many opportunities to find birdies. This course is going to test your ball striking as well as challenge your course management skills. The fairways are tight and the greens can feel small. Overall conditioning of the course was very good. The greens were quick rolled nicely.
I think I did extremely well to pencil in only two penalty strokes, find 8 greens and 8 fairways in regulation, but more importantly I had a great time doing it.

Apple Mountain during February?
Always love Apple Mountain but especially happy to play in February which normally wouldn’t be the case. It’s been a very mild winter with no rain recently the course is in great shape and it felt like spring time. The course is tough but fair; if you stay in the fairway not very long especially considering the elevation but a wayward drive is usually a lost ball or very tough lie. The scenario is spectacular. Very hill cart path; do need to pay attention and not go to fast on downhill turns. Excellent putting / chipping area plus driving range.
Number One on my list. Scenery and the staff service.
From February 2, 2019 to today, 2/18/2020, we played 47 rounds of golf, all over the West/South West from AZ, NV, OR, UT, HI, WA, and CA plus a few times in overseas (Barcelona and Rome). Apple Mountain recorded 7 rounds! My guests and friends also appreciated a great deal. Scenery and the services. The staff make you feel VIP and plan the pace of the play very well.
They can improve the greens by up keeping them on a regular basis, especially after a weekend. There are some unrepaired divots. Keep up with the good work!!
And thanks to GolfNow. Please keep them on your Hot Deal list.
Those trees!
.....are spectacular and eat golf balls..
Love the course, looking forward to when all the holes open up.
Apple Mountain GC
Apple Mountain is set in a beautiful setting just above Placerville, Ca. Challenging mountain course with lots of ups and downs. Love this course!
Good Course
Really fun challenging course. Definitely worth the price.
Not over crowded
heaven
first time visiting the view was heaven. I love the course it in great condition. it test your skills by making sure ur in position . the staff was very friendly from the golf shop to the course. the greens keepers wave and say hi . only thing I say as a con is the holes don't have shoe cleaners and my seat on cart was duck tape. don't think that looks good.
this course on my sch every year from now on :)
if you haven't played yet ur missing out
Beautiful mountain course
Play smart and enjoy the views. Only need the driver on a couple of holes.
First time
First time I played here. Beautiful course. They obviously care about the condition of their course which is good. Only reason I didn’t give a 5 is because they should spread their tee times out because it was packed. People were playing up on me the whole time but I was waiting for the group ahead of me. It’s hard to enjoy the nature and beauty of the course while feeling rushed
GREAT IN THE MOUNTAINS
FIRST TIME THERE. BUT WITH ANTICIPATION AND EXCITEMENT, HAD A NICE LUNCH AND FELLOWSHIP.
THE, GRABBED MY CLUBS, A GOLF CART AND HEADED TO HOLE#1. IT WAS VISUALLY EXCITING AND CHALLAGING TO SHORTEN THIS REVIEW, GREAT MOUNTAIN GOLF AND CAN ‘T WAIT TO GO BACK.
Beautiful Mountain Course
Beautiful course with an excellent range and short game practice area. Played this course just before snow got it, so it's up in the mountain area quite high. Staff friendly, gave me a few tips. Pace of play issue due to most golfers looking for their lost balls on every hole. Best to be short on your shots here, keep everything in front of you. Many balls will land and roll into the wild never to be seen again. Greens were rolling nice, lots of leaves. Would be nice if a grounder could go around and blow the greens in the middle of the day. Highly recommend this course and checking out the area around it (Apple Hill) for the best cider and donuts. Happy Holidays
Best course I’ve played in awhile
This was the second time I’ve played this course. And I was just as blown away by the views the second time around. Highly recommend. Go play now. Get to it!
