Apple Mountain Golf Resort
About
Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Mountain golf
If you enjoy a challenging and spectacular course, this is the one you should try! The mountain setting is stunning and the course layout is ideal.
They are very proud of their golf course, and not afraid to run you off of it.
The staff started out the day by making sure that I knew the the golf course was too hard for me, and would take a box of balls from me. Then the starter wanted to make sure I knew the they watered heavily, and not to drive on the fairways because they were slippery.
So before I even teed off the staff was trying to discourage me from playing their course.
I’ll give them the fact that the course was OVER watered, and difficult to play. And, I did lose 4 balls. I’ll also make sure never to play there again. The restaurant wasn’t great either.
Overall I would give this course a very poor rating. It’s challenging, but I have a hard time getting past the rude Californians. Don’t waste your money on this overpriced, overwatered, overrated course.
Short and sweet
Course is not long and often don't need driver off the tee. Tee shot can be tricky for first timers -- the course guide on the card really helps. Greens are fairly undulated and has strong breaks -- need very careful reads. Overall a wonderful mountain course demanding precision not distance.
It'd be good to restore the black tee
Apple Mountain is an excellent course
Always enjoy playing Apple Mountain; the course was in pretty good shape despite heavy rains the day before. The course is tough but fair; if you can keep the ball in the fairway you will score. Excellent greens and a very scenic course.
Incredible Place
This is a course cut into the mountains. Doglegs that you can't cut corners. Only hit driver 5 times. Spectacular views and course is in pristine condition. My first time there and I will be back.
my home course..
such a fun track.. beautiful environment.. no houses, buildings, power lines or roads.. i hope all these five star ratings don’t drive the price up! ;)
Play it again soon
Apple Mountain is in excellent shape.
I’ve played there about 5 times and I’ve never seen it in better condition.
The weather interrupted us, but the atmosphere was 1st rate. A very welcoming change from Sacramento County courses. The woods, the mountain feel, the fresh air and great condition of the fairways and greens make Apple Mountain a Must return venue.
Great course!
The greens had been punched 3 weeks prior our round, hence why I'm only giving 4 stars for the "Course Conditions".
Not a beginers golf course!!
Although the overall length of the course isn't real long,
you must play total position golf.
Every shot is on a hill,up,down side.
Downhill lies shooting uphill very challenging.
Total mountain golf.90* degree was in affect when we
played although ten to twelve holes were roped off to
cart access a lot of walking up & down hills to your ball.
I'm in decent shape but at between 3,000 -4,000 feet elevation
I was sucking wind(needed oxygen).
course overall was in really good shape.
I'd definitely play this course AGAIN
Nice workout
It is a nice course and was in good shape. I don't recommend it for the elderly due to the many elevations you have to climb and walk. Looking forward to going back.
Mountain course experience
Come to Apple mountain for an incredible mountain course experience. Scenery and elevation changes are awesome. No matter what, you will be challenged by uneven lyes. You can’t get frustrated though, take a look around!
Amazing course! One of my favorite courses to play at because of how secluded it feels when you are out there. Awesome down hill tee shots, I play here at least once a month (when it is not snowing) because the price is fair and the course is lavish!
Great course
This course is always fun and challenging. With all the rain it is cart path only but otherwise it’s in great shape. Make the trip. It’s worth it!
Challenging and beautiful
Course was cart path only due to all of the winter storms. Fairways we're extremely soft and lost many balls due them sticking so deep. This was to all be expected because of the rain. This course is always a fun challenge and very well maintained. Highly recommend!!
One of my favorite courses
I've played at Apple Mountain about 15 times and it's easily one of my favorite courses to play in the Sacramento area. My friends and I have played here in the summers and winters, and they keep the course groomed very well and greens rolling true. The staff is great and a pleasure to talk with. Honestly with all the courses in the Sacramento area, I don't mind driving a little further up the hill to get the views, well maintained fairways, greens and over all play. If you've played this course you know what I mean, and if you've been thinking about playing here... do yourself a favor and check it out. I was lucky enough to get this under the hot deals for under $20 and I couldn't be happier.
greens were frozen. playing Jan 2 probably didn't help though. Very fun course, will play tomorrow for sure.
