About

Type Resort
Par 70
Length 6308 yards
Slope 141
Rating 70.2

Nestled in the rolling hills of Gold Country, Apple Mountain Resort has a dramatic landscape that provides plenty of elevation changes, making it a nearly impossible course to walk. Some of the drops from tee to green are unbelievable, offering unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains. Nearly every hole enjoys a stunning backdrop. The incredibly diverse terrain makes the golf course a challenge regardless of whether you are a novice or a pro. Golfers will have to contend with mature trees, water hazards, and numerous strategically placed bunkers in addition to the uneven lies and blind shots that are a result of the undulating landscape. Apple Mountain Resort's golf course is especially nice to play in the summer since its location enjoys a temperature that is at least a few degrees cooler than the Sacramento Valley.

Fun course, good conditions, good pace

Played 10am on a Wednesday so it wasn't super crowded. But we finished all 18 holes in 4:30 with 2 of our 4 some playing the course for the first time. Conditions were great considering how early in the season it is. I can't wait to go back later in the year and play when the course dries out and runs a little more. It will be like playing for the first time all over again. I had a great time. Fun track that uses every club in your bag.

Winter prices are the same as summer prices????

Always love going to apple mountain with buddies or even by myself no matter what the conditions are! But when it’s December and your guys prices are the same as when it’s “prime golfing weather” I get really confused. Doesn’t make sense at all and for being one of the only public golf courses in the area. As a local i call bs on these prices, and will be probably going to start making the drive towards Sacramento for better courses and better prices. Lastly when you have to pay $75 to play a round of golf at a public course you’d think they’d have the pace of play to standards but it seemed like none of the employees wanted to get wet because it was raining a little bit ( even after we called about the slowwwww groups.)

Maybe if your prices were even close to what they should be you’d have a lot more people booking tee times even with the colder/ wet weather.

Mediocre - unfortunate outing

My partner and I played a 12:40 shootout, 20 minutes before our original time to “not have to run a 4 sum” - we were put behind a group of 3 drunks who held us back at least a couple of hours by the end of the day.

We had 0 inconveniences with them all day and on the 18th hold they tossed the flagstick and yelled back at us before proceeding to get off the course.

It was strange and there should have been some enforcement throughout the day. I couldn’t find a bathroom anywhere on the course as well when needed, plus the staff did not answer my call on the 9th hole for food for us.

Lastly, the last 10 minutes of my drive to arrive I spent 40 minutes in my car at el Camino exit stuck in line behind apple hill go er’s.

A simple sign on that exit with directions to proceed up hwy 50 and to enter on the back side could have saved me easily 25 minutes of dead stop traffic.

I usually love my experience at this course but this time it was below average.

What a Wonderful Facility!

This course is beautiful. Though not long, it is a great test of golf in that it requires strategy and execution. The Pro Shop staff and the starter made every effort to provide information and guidance about the course and its practice facilities. A card with information on distances and strategies for all 18 holes is provided which was very beneficial. Playing here was a wonderful experience that I look forward to doing again the next time I stay in the area.

Beautiful views.

Beautiful course...but it's hard, the pace was terribly slow, no one fixed their divots, over priced. Would play again during a slow week day at a cheaper rate if I didn't have to wait on 3 groups that started 40mins ahead of me.

Need more discipline on starting groups

Starter allowed a very annoying group on to first tee too soon - they promptly hit up on our tee shots (which weren’t bad/we were not looking for balls or anything). Set the tone for round. Not fun.

Obviously most fault with the jerk foursome (2 older Asian guys and their wives) - but starter can enforce first tee spacing.

Great Value - Challenging Course

Though not a long course Apple Mountain is a challenging layout. A lot of elevation changes with ball placement a must. This course is worth a visit. Great value.
