Wilson at Griffith Park Golf Courses

The fairways and the greens are trash. That is all…

I know this is going to sound controversial, but the course was one of the worst I've ever played at condition wise. It was a terrible course. Patches of missing grass on the fairways, the course was very lumpy. It felt like I was playing on ski moguls. It's just not worth the time and investment to play here. Had a terrible time. There are many other courses in better condition in the area.

The majority of the players do not repair their

divots, consequently, the putting greens are often in very bad shape.

I have also seen players with their pet dogs on their golf carts, which should not be allowed in any case.

Especially because Griffith Park has coyotes roaming around and small pet dogs are an inviting target on Wilson Golf Course.

Wilson is in bad shape. Greens ok. Lots of burnt areas around fairways and infested with ground squirrels. The tunneling systems are so bad, I can guarantee at least one player will find their ball in a hole (squirrel hole). It’s a shame because I love this course and its history.

I am done with the place. We, as a public, should not have to pay this same price as most other muni courses of the same level to be given a course that is virtually un-playable due to the gopher holes, mounds and remnants all over the golf course, as well as the greens no longer being looked after.

It is time, LA City, to shut down Wilson and completely strip the course, remove the gophers, clean up the dead areas, and re-lay new sod and start all over again. It has to be done. Don’t be immature and childish about it. The place is an embarrassment, every single person who plays it complains about it. It is time. This needs to be done. Put people to work.

You don’t need to change out layout. It just needs stripping and resodding, reseeding, re-laying, and clean up of the cart paths and bunkers to bring them to the proper depths and sand quality.

Do it now. It is time. We shouldn’t have to tolerate this debacle any more. We shouldn’t have to give you the money to play this mess.
