Wilson at Griffith Park Golf Courses

The course conditions were good, but the greens were fast and difficult! I'd like to play another round soon.

The fairways, rough, and tee boxes look like a war zone!! Felt like I was playing at a farm in the Midwest. The greens were rolling ok but still had fungus growing on them in spots. I’ve been coming to this place for over a decade and have never seen it in worse shape. Dreadful. I really hope they can fix it but I seriously doubt it.

A packed tee sheet with rough growing on some tee boxes and gopher landmines all over some fairways. Gtfoh… Someone mentioned that once the animal rights activists found out the manner in which the rodent problem was being handled they snitched and we get what we have now. A disaster; such a shame. The greens were the only aspect of the course half way decent. Of course just how some mention, I’m fixing like five marks per green. #shrinkthegame

Fairly decent condition.

They’ve watered the course so the grass is growing thick and green, quite well. Tee boxes were a bit on the thick side. Good grass all around mostly, except for the usual holes 7, 8, 9, 10, where you get most of the gopher holes and dirt mounds troubles.

Greens were good. Not extra firm, but firm enough, and rolled fairly decent, they were not crazy quick. Some of the pins were questionable though, such as 17 and 18! Who the heck put those there ? lol

First half took 2.5, so we thought we were going for a 5 hour round but it picked up a bit on the back and only took another 2 hours so I had to forgive, even though I waited on EVERY shot the whole round because of the group ahead of us were a hole behind the whole day and made everybody wait behind them. Could’ve been a quicker round, is what I’m saying!

I've played Wilson several times and it's a nice course for a city run course. However, there was a lot of exposed dirt where there was no grass or dead grass around a few of the greens. For the most part the fairways were good but a lot of dead stuff and bad conditions in the rough. Greens were nice except that most people who play Wilson do not fix their divots leaving a mine field for you to deal with. Also, the pace was pretty slow. Overall it was not in the best conditions, but it is playable.
