Very challenging, with super-fast greens
The course is tough -- although it is short, it is a handful. And tough is OK -- we need to be challenged. But honestly the greens were very, very fast. Maybe it is because it was hot and dry, and has been for a couple weeks. But for a first timer on the course, it was difficult to adjust. After making what seemed to be decent approaches, too often I was punished by what turned out to be basically drop puts that just would not stop. It has a lot of elevation changes. doglegs, narrow fairways and very small greens. Fairways OK but patchy in places. Be prepared to bring your A-game or it will be a tough day!
Average Public Course
Tee’d off at 3p, played 9 holes in 2.25hrs. Tee boxes need work, soggy and no grass from the blues on a lot of the holes. Fairways are average and the greens are small and firm. You will like it if you are into short courses, this one is more placement for successful approaches. Overall not bad, I would go again but not anytime soon.
First timer - COVID Jan mid-week round
Never played here before, but kept widening the radius on my search range until I could find something available during my time off work and found myself teeing off at 7:40 with no delays or hassles (no practice amenities available due to COVID either).
The course is very interesting- winding its way through the hills, and it was quite the workout for me with a push-cart (though still totally doable). The greens were well maintained and rolled true - though having never played there before, they baffled me over and over. Bring an accurate long game for the par 3s, and tight drives!
Definitely had a great time and played nice and fast with an early tee time. Not my favorite layout, but I’m glad I tried it out and it was a good bargain for $30 walking!
Yardage Stakes Needed
The course layout is quite interesting but problems go to that there's no yardage stakes. You may play your hunch on what club to use for your tee shots on many many holes. I like that all the clubs should be used at this course. IF they place yardage stakes, the course will be rated one of the best courses in LA area.
Very Challenging Greens
The course is a little short but very challenging greens compensate that. You may not expect one putt unless your ball luckily lands within a yard away from the hole. More importantly, greens are so small that you may easily miss the green, which ends up with a chip shot and 2 putts no matter how short the putting distance is. I like the course, particularly the layout. IF the course has yardage stakes in the fairway in place such as red, white and blue, I will give them almost perfect score!
I love DeBell!
I love this course. It is challenging and gorgeous. Thank you
A good play
Good conditions and friendly staff. Tough smallish greens. A shotmakers course.
Fun, great scenery, tough greens
Greens kicked my butt but had a blast. Beautiful setting and super fun track
Driving range
Compared to the course itself, the driving range leaves loads to be desired. The price for a large bucket is excellent but the balls themselves are atrocious!! (I've seen younger balls at a senior center!!)
The mats are acceptable but could use an upgrade.
Now last, and definitely least, is the range itself. Aesthetically unpleasing. Hurts my eyes. DeBell really needs to cover up all that dirt. I'll be content with faux carpet.
Love my home course
Love this course in the beautiful Burbank hills. The course is challenging and in great shape. Playing alongside the local deer is an added bonus!
Total domination
I brought this course to its knees w/a 92.
I rule!
Very poor cart way, Greens were ok Tee boxes fair,
Fairways were just fair.
