Roosevelt Municipal Golf Course

Fun, yet challenging course. Mostly Par 4’s. Good bit of elevation. Easy to walk.

This course is a gem at the foothills of Griffith Park. Helpful Staff, well kept groinds and nice layout, terrific views of Griffith Park Observatory.

Love this course but when it’s busy your playing with 5 so pace gets slowed down tremendously. Took 4 hours to play nine holes. Not complaining but giving those who’ve never been here a heads up. The course itself is always immaculate. Fairways and greens are lush and the hills and trees are picturesque and a beautiful escape from the busy city just below!! They have a little cafe to purchase drinks and snacks.

I had heard about this course from friends and was looking forward to getting on the course. The majority of the course has wide fairways with the challenge being the curving shape to the holes from tee to green. You enjoy occasional glimpses of both downtown LA and on hole 6 (I believe) a view of Griffith Observatory from the tee pad. No carts are allowed and you will need to be able to walk up and down hills - another challenging factor. All in all it was enjoyable to play.

I'm not sure why this happens maybe it's the groups of fives maybe it's the 8 minute intervals maybe it's all the ball sprayers maybe it's the lack of marshaling or starter advisory to keep pace of play, maybe it's the running club taking all the parking spaces at 8:00 am but when I hit 3 hours on hole

5 that was the end for me had to go watch the PGA Championship . It's 9 HOLES shouldn't be that long to get a round in book at your ow peril

3hours and 40 minutes is too long for 9 holes of golf.

Why do you allow 5 somes?

Being charged full price prepaying on this app then getting to the course and the greens being a sand box was very disappointing didn’t even play the whole course

Beautiful views and great walk to get some extra exercise in. They have a cafe with beverages and food. Overall course is in great conditions. Greens were excellent. One of my favorite walking courses in Los Angeles.

good balance of mid length par 3s and long par 4s. No par 5s.

Great place to come if you only have < 3 hours to play.

Only bummer is that they put out 5-somes every 10 minutes on the weekend.

Roosevelt 9 hole executive public course is an excellent and challenging way to play golf. My 2 sons and I make regular Father's Day outings as well as birthdays. We love the hilly terrain and gorgeous settings and views. The greens keepers do an admirable job with the limited city resources. We are grateful for their efforts and results. This is an emerald gem in Griffith Park, which is also a gem. Thank you to the city for providing this necessary healthful gorgeous way to exercise as citizens of the City of Lis Angeles.

The best 9 holes I ever played, the views are beautiful and the greens very well keeped. Worth the price and drive.

The course was enjoyable for the most part. I had family visiting from out of town so we decided to play this course. The views were amazing and the course was pretty well kept. Tee times were booked 10 minutes apart with groups of five so pace of play was very slow. We waited at each Tee box for two separate groups to go in front of us up until the eighth hole. One staff member was unusually unhelpful and slightly rude. With family in town my wife wanted to join us since we were walking so we could catch up with each other. Xander wouldn’t allow my wife to join us and wouldn’t allow me to speak to a supervisor to simply ask. He told me they were on the course playing their own tournament and were unreachable. I even offered to pay full price for her to just walk and be able to socialize with our family. He couldn’t care less which came as a surprise since most people are kind and happy on golf courses. Then to top it off after we made it to the second hole, I realized I had the car keys in my golf bag so my wife walked out to grab them so she could hang out in the ac if she wanted. Xander proceeded to yell something over the PA to my wife then chased her down to tell her she wasn’t allowed on the course. Quite an unprofessional way to handle things. I booked the course through the GolfNow app and did not see their rules for no spectators, so that is my fault but the way he handled things was uncalled for. I would possibly recommend this course to friends however I will warn them. They may get treated like they’re at the DMV.
