Great Course!
First time here and loved it. The only knock on it was the pace of play due to a Tournament that we weren’t aware of. The groups in front put out pace of play at 18 minutes behind.
Other than that the place is great!
No replay?
Course was cart path only. Lots of soggy areas but the course played well. A little bumpy on the greens but it's been raining so no complaints, adjusted by the 4th. Aside from the course. The fact that there isn't a replay rate is kinda crazy.
There are not ball washers filled with water & soup at each Tee. The restrooms on the course and in the clubhouse are disgusting!!! And too many ball marks on the greens - need a better more motivated maintenance team. The last time I went to the snack bar at the turn, I was disappointed with lack of selection, so I didn't even bother.
Fun Spot, beautiful
Love this place, cheap and beautiful with interesting layout. If they haven’t mowed in a bit it’s a little shabby.
Awful, awful, awful.
Half the tee boxes were not cut, as in, overgrown, that they play like you’re standing in 2 inch rough!! And they put the tee markers right in the middle of it!!! What, they couldn’t just cut half and put the marker there and let the other half grow properly?
Every other green was different speed, with all of them uncut and slow like molasses. The only slightly quick one is always hole 2, every other green was overgrown and terrible. Why do we put up with this? They were thick and bumpy, it’s just not golf. Why is it like this now? Griffith courses used to be known for good greens. Not any more. It’s been like this for a couple years. It’s terrible.
Half the bunkers were like packed mud, hard as rock. The only bunker at hole 5, the Par 5, right side of Green, the only bunker, was literally like rock. Why can’t they just machine rake and fluff it up??? And half the other bunkers had some sand, and some had grass growing in it!!! Why????
And then around 5:30:pm, the sprinklers were on in the middle of the fairway on holes 11 & 12!!!!! What the heck!!! We all had to dodge around the water!!! Why????
Oh and the gophers have started to migrate over from Wilson. Yup, you can see more of them coming up making holes and mounds.
Seriously. This is the level of LA. Just like its government. Because it’s the same people.
So depressing.
The only good thing was the pace, being a late twilight time people seemed to move along. Not like anybody can putt on those abominations, everybody was just kicking it around and moving to the next hole.
Don’t kid yourself.
