Golf Club of Houston - Tournament Course

Luckily paired with another father/son St Patrick's Day round. Weather was perfect, even with the occasional gusts of wind. Pace of play was ideal. Course was in great condition and as forecasted the rain started to come down just as I shot an Eagle on the 18th.

Fun. Challenging. In great shape. Very nice Proshop, clubhouse, and practice facilities. But we played a 5+ hour round and skipped two holes to get around some unacceptably slow groups. They need a Marshall.

This is where PGA ‘s Shell Houston Open used to be played. Course conditions are still pristine, especially this time of the year. Pace of play is on point, the Marshalls are friendly. Only qualm I have is that they don’t offer water stations, probably bcoz of Covid-19, but it’s high time we resume normalcy.

Cart girl would’ve been nice on a Sunday afternoon when it’s 78 degrees, great pace, good greens, and friendly staff. $30 for a rider is insane too

Loved the course. Great greens and fun layout. Doesn’t beat you up but still challenging. Lounge afterwards was great with super service from F&B Manager. Calamari and shrimp pasta delicious. GolfNow deal at $65 was a steal. Don’t miss this place

After a two hour drive to get to play the tournament course at Country club of Houston (/( not to mention a trip from Nova Scotia to get to Texas ) I was informed “you cannot play there is a tournament today “..

Course is not worth it during winter time. Maybe will get better in spring/summer. Short staff was the excuse for Concessions and play was very slow.

Was a great course, but got stuck behind three foursomes of ncaa players. We left five hours in on hole 14.

Place is awesome. Practice facilities are amazing, course is awesome. Pace of play stunk.

Golf club of Houston has done a fantastic job with their course maintenance during this 2022 winter season! The greens were rolling very pure at least 12 on the Stimp, extra smooth! Very very impressed with a Course conditions I played her hundreds of times and it’s in excellent shape right now January 2022.

Golf Club Houston is my favorite track to play but since Redstone sold it, the level of service has not been the same .My experience Sunday was a disaster because there was a tournament and the course booked tee times BEFORE the shot gun came off the course. The result was a 5 1/2 hour experience from tee time to finish. The biggest reason that people are willing to pay a premium is they know a 4 1/2 hour round is not only possible but highly likely. Everyone should call ahead and ask if there is a tournament prior to booking a tee time. All that being said, the course was in FABULOUS condition!

First time playing here and had a blast. Perfect greens, fairways, and tee boxes with a beautiful and challenging layout. It played really slow the first 7 holes due to a tournament in front of us but sped up after that. Overall, really enjoyed the course and will definitely be going back.
