About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Golfer Reviews
need better fairway
Course needs to improve fairway condition. it was worse than last year condition.
Great time
Front nine was great pace, back nine was a joke, 3 groups in front us the worse is that they don't have a marshal to tell people hey need to keep a good pace, 5 hour round is unacceptable in my opinion, lay out and course condition was great otherwise
Fun beautiful course
This course is always challenging, fun, and in great shape. The views are awesome.
Pace of play needs improvement
Had what I thought was an early tee time just before 7am, but a group of individuals oblivious to course etiquette beat me to the course. One the first lessons I learned when learning to play the game was to keep pace with the group ahead of you and apparently this group missed that lesson. We played as a 4some and had a 3some group in front of us that just took their sweeta** time on EVERY single hole. From the very beginning we had to wait behind them at each hole and it wasn’t because they had a group in front of them, they just played as if they were the only ones on the course. Made the experience unpleasant because standing around having to wait you were never able to get into a good rhythm and you got cold. Even when we were standing as close as 40 yards behind them just off the green they didn’t care, they just slow poked along. In the future, I hope that Chardonnay has marshal’s out on the course keeping players in the correct position. I do enjoy the layout of the course and course conditions however, pace of play definitely needs to be improved.
Chardonnay course conditions
Bunkers are atrocious and some fairways look like we are in a drought. Greens are nice but slow, albeit g fair slow you just need to find the pace.
Otherwise, course needs watering and for the most part, it's been better, but playable.
Great layout ,needs update
Played this course first week iit opened, glorious new addition. However looks like nothing has been done to maintain the cart paths ,and neglect of the fairways and bunkers is very evident, Some money time and effort could restore this course to its one time glory.
Windy Day
Tough conditions but the course was fun. Got a lot of roll-out in the fairways. Bunkers could use some work.
course maintenance
I understand that the grass clippings are left on the course for mulching purposes, but it leads to ridiculously
slow play with golfers trying to find their ball. The bunkers were like hitting off of hardpan, at least the three I was in.
Give this course some TLC and it would easily be 5 Stars.
A few Complaints
we've never been happy about "no carts allowed" in parking lot. The fellow at bag drop needs some lessons. Bags were cock-eyed and not secured. No "official" scorecards; only generic yellow. Pro shop said pin position was 3. What good is that. with no reference. Couldn't find anyone to make a cocktail at the turn. Course was in the best shape ever though!
Needs work
Slow pace of play without a marshal. The rough was long and covered in grass clippings so that I lost two balls just feet off the fairway. Greens were great as usual. Not up to Chardonay standards
