The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge

This is a fun layout that is in very nice condition except for the greens. They are terribly slow and bouncy.

Course never has much grass in the fairways. Pace was slow. Traps arent in gooe shape even though i kmow it is during a pandemic. Greens are good.

Been playing here for years. One of the most picturesque courses in the area with rolling hills. Greens , fairways and tees in great shape right now. . They worked very hard to fix issue with crabgrass issues with greens and they look and roll great right now. Wish folks would do better to repair their ball marks thugh. Overall, They are keeping it nicely maincured. Only issue that still remains are the bunkers. They dont drain well and the sand is in bad shape, wish they would replace the sand. Too many rocks and pebbles after years of bad drainage.

I'm from Florida so every where down here is flat. This course is beautiful and tons of elevation change. I loved it!

I am writing this here because I can't find any other way to contact anyone with GolfNow. My son-in-law and I played today but only finished 10 holes because he suddenly felt lightheaded and had tightness in his chest. Before driving him to the hospital I notified David in the pro shop. After my son=in=law was released I called David about a credit for 18 holes. He said because I paid GolfNow he could not do it. When I pressed him about my impression that Chapel Ridge would be receiving payment from GolfNow he told me because we booked a "HotDeal" (savings of $7 off the course rate of $55) Chapel Ridge would receive nothing. So, I am asking for a credit of $48.00 from GolfNow back to my credit card. I look forward to hearing from you. Mike Beam

Course you could tell was not in very good shape nice course not well maintained

Chapel Ridge is in pretty good shape. Some of the fairways are a bit beat up because of the combination of carts and rain. This is a tough course to walk. The greens were in excellent shape. The bunkers need some work. Staff is very friendly. Great driving range

There were many positives but the negatives seemed to have stuck with me through the positives. Pace wasn’t bad; my friend and I play at a faster pace than most so we tend to catch groups on courses. The problem was no one was letting us through even though we both play about scratch level golf. Fairways greens and we putting most of the time. The fairways weren’t in great shape, seemed like they haven’t been mowed and weeds were kind of bad throughout. Greens were the best part. Bunkers the worst, no sand and lots of rocks. Overall I would caution a friend who would ask me about playing there.

I keep returning, trying to break 90. This course is a test of all your skills. Greens were a bit slow today after all the rain. Pace a bit slow on front 9... sped up after.

Plays well for the average golfer, not so challenging that it’s not fun. Condition is good, not great.

I really like this layout, challenging but rewarding too. Today the greens were very slow and cost me several birdies. It’s been cool enough to cut them lower. The fairways need to grow up some and the natural areas are a nice touch also.

I love this course so much except the greens are dependably crap. I have no idea why they insist upon keeping these as bentgrass. They spend all summer with long, furry, mushy greens to keep them alive, but having just played now with aeration weeks ago, they are rolling slow and fuzzy during the time of year when they should be healthy and quick.

The Preserve gets less play, is less popular, and the greens there are almost always better than Chapel Ridge. I would take CR's layout 10 out of 10 times over the Preserve, but I can't do these greens anymore.

I remember asking in the shop last year if they'd considered changing to Champion Bermuda...I was pretty much laughed at and asked why they'd want to do that? Newsflash, because your greens are never good with bent grass.

I really hope they make a change one of these days.

The course is a great layout and fun to play. It was in good shape but is showing signs of hard times due to maybe not enough members and money problems with small details like the cups on the greens being worn where the flag does not stay in the holder straight due to wear. With the flags having to stay in because of cvd 19 can’t pull flags. Was thinking about donating a full set of new holders to the course.

Course in good shape except greens had been plugged and were probably 80-85% recovered and the greens were somewhat slower and bumpier than normal.
