#17 I think this should be the signature hole. Enough balls in the lake to make it look like an Easter Basket. Lol Photo submitted by Geno7176732 on 09/27/2016

One of my favorites in the area
I really like this course even though they've had significant winter kill in some areas on the fairways. Greens were a little slower than usual.
It's still well worth the 35-40 minute drive.
This course is usually in better condition
Greens are in good shape, but the fairways and tee boxes are dead. Must have had trouble with the winter weather.
Not quite there yet
The fairways were a bit patchy and burned out on most holes. That's the only qualm I have with the course. The layout is fantastic and the greens were near perfect. Beautiful scenery, well worth the 45 min drive. Staff is very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend to others.
We’re sorry to hear that your experience at our facility, but like many of the other golf courses in the area we have experienced winterkill. Winterkill is the result of very low temperatures experienced in late winter. The damage of direct low temperature kill occurs most commonly during periods of alternating freezing and thawing, aggravated by the increase in plant moisture when the turf is most vulnerable in late winter. This, coupled with sudden drops in cold temperatures creates a perfect storm for winterkill. Our solution over the next couple of weeks, we will be aerifying and fertilizing the fairways to get them back in the best condition possible. We ask all golfers for their understanding and patience, as this will be a summer of repair and recovery.
We hope to see you again at our facility as our playing conditions improve!!!
Disappointed
I've played this course many times and have always been pleased with conditions and facilities.
However, this time the course was in scabby condition for mid May. The fairways had hardly any grass and the bunkers had more dirt than sand. The water dispensers had no cups on two stations. The grill wasn't open at 7:45 for coffee or food and no coffee available anywhere.
This is not the same course I'm accustomed to playing. Also the guy mowing the fairway wouldn't move his mower to the edge of rough while you were hitting your tee shot instead he sat in the middle of fairway and waved us on. What's up with that?
Great Layout, poor conditions
I have played Chapel Ridge probably 8 times, Always love the layout and setting. However course conditions, particularly the fairways were Terrible, burn out brown on May 16. Lack of water for fairways. Glad I booked it on Golf now and only paid $35 in the afternoon, not worth more than that until fairways improve.

Chapel Ridge
First time playing course. Found some fairway bunkers from not knowing yardage. Hopefully corrected next time playing. Grass is still greening up. Some tees are still in rough shape. Greens are in good shape. With all the rain we've received this Spring the course was not sloppy wet as one may have expected. For the price paid and time of the round I'll definitely be back again later. Less than 3 hours on a late Friday afternoon. Map function is wrong on Golf Now. Don't use their map view for this course as it is incorrect.

poor fairway condition
Nearly every fairwayand box was in very poor condition due to extremely hard winter, but looks as if some more could have been done to improve these conditions.

Great course
This is a great track. Interesting layout that will not take the driver out of your hands. Fantastic risk reward course. Greens usually are in great condition and roll true. Seems to have been hit with some winter kill this year though that may need some attention.

Good Experience
It was a good price, but the booking process was a little confusing, I wasn't sure that if the booking went through or not.
Two Weeks Early
This is a great layout; long with wide fairways and well-protected greens. The greens were still in recovery from aeration, so they were pretty bumpy. And the fairways were still dormant. I'll give it a couple of weeks and come back. It should be in great shape by then.
Good Time
My second time playing here. Was Easter Sunday afternoon so was pretty empty. We zipped right around...pace was great.
Starter said greens were aerated 3 weeks ago. Felt more recent than that as greens still in rough shape in spots. But I suppose that is to be expected with some of the cold nights we've had recently. Fairways pretty hard/dusty, but again, it is early April.
Love the layout here...nice views, some nice hills and turns. Definitely has its challenging holes, but nothing quirky or "forced challenges" just to be different like I've seen in some other places.
Staff was great, weather was great, pace was great..no complaints from me for an early April round. Can't wait to get back a bit later in the season when conditions are as they are supposed to be. Definitely worth the short trek outside of Raleigh to play here.
#1 Customer Service
I booked a foursome for Sunday which was to be great weather.
When I arrived I was told that the booked day was showing as Saturday not Sunday.
I called Golf Now and they were great! They changed the reservation to Sunday and worked with the Golf Pro at the course to work us in.
The Golf Pro who was working the desk, was great.
He worked us in and helped with the person I called at Golf Now.
Both Golf Now and Chapel Ridge are fantastic.
Chatham Co. hidden secret
Great facility / Staff / Course was in good condition. Freddy Couples well done!
Great course Dreadful pace
I had heard about this course from my father several times. We got a deal on Golf Now and went to play since it was 55 degrees in January. The fairways were in great shape although they were a little short in areas. The greens were mowed well and were in good shape although it was obvious that visitors there were not interested in the golden rule of fix your divot +1. A 10 footer may bounce 3 times. Being a Friday, we expected it to be a little slow. We had a foursome in front of us with a 70 year old woman WALKING! That's right, walking on a Friday at noon. She had the opportunity of riding in a cart with an open seat but chose to walk 75% of the round. As a matter of fact, each one of the players in the group would walk 150 yards after their shot on numerous occasions. I was hoping someone would be manning this but to no avail. Overall this is a really nice course and I will go back, but someone should monitor the players and their pace from time to time.
very good course and enjoyable
One of my fav. course in the area. if you play smart then very enjoyable round
Fun course
The course was in good shape for this time of year. The course is one of those that's fair and a lot of fun to play.
Hidden Gem
Chapel Ridge is just a fun course to play. Fairly open fairways allow some leeway off the tee but hole length and challenging greens make it a true test of golf. Always in good to very good condition, rarely crowded and reasonably priced, Chapel Ridge is one of my favorite courses in the area.
Great Course, and even better staff!!
Great condition. . Greens were very tricky.
Not a tough driving course, but you definitely want to know where you should land on the greens.
Beautiful Course
I a
Ways enjoy playing Chapel Ridge. very scenic course. greens could use some work, but very enjoyable.
Course conditions were not good for the price or the way this course should look/play
The greens were too fast, cut way too short, (some spots were sand/dirt) There were ruts and 3 foot rivets in at least 4 of the 18 greens. The course was extremely dry, fairways brown and cut too short in some places as well. I am a 10 handicap.... 4 holes today I had birdie puts that ended up 3 putting because of the green conditions. Sometimes on one hole maybe that happens, but it was absurd, frustrating, and not worth even the discounted golf now price of 44 dollars.... Also, the ranger came through and twice told my foursome that we had to speed up. There was no one in front of us and I kid you not... not once did we see the group behind us after the 1st hole. What kind of professionalism is that? Especially when every player in my group shot total rounds in the 80's. Fred Couples course and I am sure if he showed up to play he would be mighty disappointed at the quality of the course the staff has kept up. It would be a much better experience if the conditions were better. I would not recommend going back this season until they fix the conditions.... especially the greens.
