#17 I think this should be the signature hole. Enough balls in the lake to make it look like an Easter Basket. Lol Photo submitted by Geno7176732 on 09/27/2016

Not worth the drive
Again I had high hopes for this course but it just didnt deliver. The course is in pretty rough shape, the greens are just dead with winter kill all over the fairways. The course does have a nice layout but being that it is about 45min from my house I most likely will not be returning.
Fun layout. Greens need TLC
Getting 4 stars because of the condition of the greens. Many places where old ball marks were not repaired resulting in bare spots. Not courses fault if people do not repair divots but they can do a better job with trying to make sure they are aware.
improving
Having not played the course in two months, I was impressed with the much improved condition of the fairways and tee boxes. The greens are a bit beaten up, but I assume it is due to a lot of play.
first time
Chapel Ridge was a pretty nice course. I tend to hold courses to high standards and this one was pretty close to meeting them. The conditions were relatively good, some dead spots in the fairway and greens but I think that is the normal around here during the summer, I am used to golf in the north where the summer months courses are pure green. Overall I think this course is good value, a little out of the way though is the only unfortunate
Wide open!
I always enjoy this course. Challenging and fun! Will return!
Disappointing
Such a great design, but poorly maintained. Large dead patches on tee boxes and fairways. Ball plugged on the green several times. Huge crabgrass patches. Will not be playing here again any time soon.
Fun course
Chapel ridge is a fun course. There is winter kill in some fairways and the greens are rough. I think the greens are because they have extra play because of the remodeling of the preserve
Bad shape!
The course has severely deteriorated - greens are dying, fairways still suffering from "winter kill," etc. Money not being spent to upgrade an otherwise well-conceived course, much less sufficient spending on general maintenance. Really a shame!
This course is in very good shape
Everything was well maintained. From the tee box to the green. All good.
nice layout
Lot of "winterkill" on most every fairway..greens rolled fast, but tons of ball marks,a lot of which never repaired.pace of play..TERRIBLE!!! NO MARSHAL ON COURSE! tee time 1:50...finished round at 7:05 pm..group in front of us would not let us play thru..they had no one infront of them for 3 holes!wide open course in front of them and no marshal to direct traffic...
This course has a good design.
Course is in good shape. Some winter kill. Fairways good. Greens good.
This course is worth playing
Played on a day after heavy rain, but ground crews were out at dawn to put the track back in shape. A little tough but fair - course follows the natural terrain. Played early at pace was great.
Great greens
About 6 fairways were in bad shape. Many bare spots and grass browned out. Greens were in great shape. Wide fairways.
Course was in horrible shape
We played at Chapel Ridge and it was in horrible condition. It was understandable "Winter Kill" damaged their fairway's and tee boxes, but they aerated the fairway's and still charged us full price. Definitely not worth it.
$25 was too much
Thought I was getting a deal, however paying $25 was too much. The fairways are terrible, the tee boxes bad and the greens were in good shape. I had a 3:40 tee time as a single and joined up with 2 others on the 3rd tee box. We waited every shot on the front none, often getting to the tee box to watch the foursome in front of us tee off.
On the back nine, we only played 4 holes before quitting. When we would get to the the tee box, the group in front of us would be waiting to tee off. On the last two holes we played, we watched two groups tee off in front of us. When I complained at the clubhouse upon leaving, I was told the ranger left at 5pm.
Finally, it was around 95 degrees when I started, 90 when I finished. I did not see a beverage cart a single time and most of the water coolers on the course were empty. It was a miserable round of golf.
We’re sorry to hear that your experience at our facility, but like many of the other golf courses in the area we have experienced winterkill. Winterkill is the result of very low temperatures experienced in late winter. The damage of direct low temperature kill occurs most commonly during periods of alternating freezing and thawing, aggravated by the increase in plant moisture when the turf is most vulnerable in late winter. This, coupled with sudden drops in cold temperatures creates a perfect storm for winterkill. Our solution over the next couple of weeks, we will be aerifying and fertilizing the fairways to get them back in the best condition possible. We ask all golfers for their understanding and patience, as this will be a summer of repair and recovery.
We also have made adjustments in our pace of play guidelines for our staff so that our golfers may have a more enjoyable time out on the course. We appreciate your honest feedback and hope that you come back and see us as our playing conditions improves and pace of play!!!
Nice course, but only at a discounted price
As usual, the course layout is challenging and fun. However, "winter kill" has really taken hold of this place and most of the fairways have significant dead spots (up to half of the fairway). Greens were hard, but a little fuzzy and slower than usual.
Overall, I'd give this place until next year to liven back up before paying full price. It's still not a bad deal if you get a deeply discounted tee time.

what has happened???
I have always loved this course, play it twice a month. Great design with lots of risk reward. The fairways have always been a little on the thin side when it comes to the fairways and grass growth. I know it was a bad winter but I have not found a course in worse condition in and around the triangle for what you pay in green fees. The greens which are normally in great shape were 3 stars at best. See you next spring because there is no quick fix here, hope for a wet warm summer and a warm winter for some grass growth.

Not worth the $65 walk-in rate or $55 internet rate at this time
Fairways terrible - grass is thin, short and they lost much of the fairways over the winter. Hard to find any decent grass to hit from. Pace of play just under 5 hrs - too slow for a 7:20am tee time. Greens were very good

beautiful course
I have played this course for several years. It was the worst fairway condition they need to work on it. Green was nice as usual.

Skip this year
The course is in horrible shape, it's like they have given up on it.
It could be the weird weather we have had this year, but regardless they should warn people that the fairways don't exist - straight hard pan dirt.
The sand traps are made with construction dirt.
I suggest you play this course but not in 2015...
No way will they get it fixed by the end of the year.
I bet this place was nice at one time
