#17 I think this should be the signature hole. Enough balls in the lake to make it look like an Easter Basket. Lol Photo submitted by Geno7176732 on 09/27/2016

Beautiful course
The day was absolutely stunning. It's just so peaceful there. Saw lots of deer and wildlife. Each hole is unique. You can't get into a lot of trouble, but you still have some challenges. Would be a difficult course to walk. The grass on most fairways was not the best, but I'm sure the large amount of rain we have had affected them. It's a bit of a hike for us from SE Wake, but worth the trip.
The Rain Factor
It was a rainy Monday morning in August. The tee sheet was a shambles and the staff, along with the starter, had little care or perhaps no knowledge, of how to handle the situation with a flock of golfers who had nowhere else to be on a rainy Monday morning except Chapel Ridge Golf Club.
You would presume there would be a few cancellations and the tee sheet would have corresponding gaping 'holes' and the obvious, perhaps even proper thing, would be to pair up seemingly like parties who arrive in close proximity to one another. Not at this course. First come, first out appeared to be the standard procedure for the day. (My opinion, of course, but this is my review of how the course plays out during my purchase of use.)
Aside from a wet hour prior to our scheduled tee time, the range was open, the practice putting green was as well. Jack the cart attendant was pleasant as was Sam the starter, hard to say anything positive or negative of the guy in the pro shop, he was there that is all.
The course is in fine shape, from tee through green. Greens were running about 11 to 12 on the Stimp meter, even in the rain. (heard something about a new roller to appease the members who were complaining the greens were to slow.)
Having played here several times over the years past, I can say the course is in as good a shape as I have ever played it, the fairways have filled in nicely and the greens are better than I have ever seen. The bunkers, however are quite a different story. It appears there is no knowledge of persons entering the sand as to any type of etiquette regarding bunker use and repair of sand afterward. The tracks I saw did not come from the few players ahead of me on the day I played; conversely, the damage I saw was days old, remains from the previous weekend play, perhaps even older. The maintenance guys cannot do it all alone. Proper bunker care begins with the golfer who is in there practicing their sand play. Hint: there will be another golfer in there after you depart, be courteous. (what a concept!)
Pace of play on the day I was there varied for each group. There was no ranger, although one was certainly needed. My group allowed three other groups to play through and felt pressured all the day long. I cannot imagine playing here on a weekend, it has to take at least six hours if this rainy Monday is an indication of the speed of play.
The best part of the day was the tuna sandwich in the grill after our round and the nice young lady who waited upon us. I expect it will be quite a long time for me to return to Chapel Ridge Golf Club, I am sure they will not mind as that will allow one more non caring golfer to take my place.
The greens need a lot of work
Overall, the course was in pretty good condition... However, the greens were pretty bad. The greens were pretty soft, and people weren't repairing their ball marks enough. Also, luckily this didn't affect me, but some of the bunkers were washed out from rain possibly. Several needed to have new sand applied, they were all dirt rather than sand.
Large fairways and greens
The course is fun to play for any golfer. Pick the right tee and you will have an enjoyable day. The greens are very large and in great shape. The holes are very picturest with out homes being to close. One of my favorite golf courses.
Course
Overall course, was in good condition, however, the greens need some TLC. Many ball marks and very inconsistent....
Beautiful course
I love playing here. The staff are all extremely nice and I love the course layout. Some holes are spectacular. And, the driving range is just as beautiful as the 18 holes.
The greens were showing some wear but other than that, it was a great day.
Firm and Fast
I love the course layout and the facilities I do not like the tightness and firmness of the fairways. This is not a "need to grow in" issue the course is old enough. To me it is something basic in the type of bermuda or hard sub soil - never the less - lots of roll, thin grass density; very tight lies
Chapel Ridge
Some great "Risk and Reward" shot decision at Chapel Ridge. Very nice lay out!
Great Layout
I simply liked the course. Course was in great shape.
Fun challenging course. Fast & smooth greens. Good value.
Chapel Ridge is a fun yet challenging course. It has some pretty long holes and very fast greens, at least they were the day I played. Most of the greens are domed so if you don't hit in the center they will roll off. They do roll very true and are probably the smoothest I've played in the area. It's a very pretty course but it's long so walking is near impossible with long gaps between holes. Lots of elevation changes make it challenging to pick the right club so I suggest playing with someone who is familiar with the course the first time. The course is in excellent shape overall. All of the tee boxes are well kept and the fairways are very green and also well maintained. If you are looking to play a course around this area I would definitely recommend Chapel Ridge.
Wounderful course!!!
It's a wounderful course. Not too easy, not too difficult...sight seeing was so good. I'd like to play again this course.

Nice Course
Good condition overall.. Fairway bunkers had some erosion problems... Greens were marked up and bumpy..
course conditions
The course was in good playing condition and had a great day on the course.
Excellent course
Love Chapel Ridge. Challenging but fair. Great condition
very nice layout and condition
I picked a picture perfect day and got paired in with a couple of members. Nice fair layout with ample yardage markers. 30 bucks make it even better. Friendly staff. Starter knew what he was doing. Will definately be back. I did hear they will be aerating the green within the next week or so. So inquire about that before booking.
Lotta Fun
1st time I played this cource in years was played after bad rain storm and course was in great shape
Will PLay again
For the first timer, I found this course to be challenging, yet one you can score on if you can place your shots. Not meaning this is a shotmaker course but a good drive and decent irons in one can score well. The greens were fast and hard to read, but then I did not take my time to read them as I should have. The course was in excellent shape, has a very good layout and asthetically very pleasing to the eye.
Elevated tee boxes make this very interesting and different, and the greens are very well protected with strategically placed bunkers.
Great Course
We got a groupon so it was a little more affordable. I look forward to playing the coarse again soon....even at the normal higher rate
Great Layout
Elevated tees inspired confidence, and elevated and well protected greens required carry.
