About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

I started playing again after a 20 years layoff. Since I started again last June I’ve played several courses none come close to being this bad. Played here last fall. Course under construction. Played again 8 months later. What are they doing with the green fees certainly not reinvesting in the course. Still same construction only more of it. None of it seems to be getting done only started. This is truly a horrible place. People aren’t friendly either, so there’s no upside to this place. Too bad because it literally the closest public course to my house outside of Monarch which is kind of costly to play regularly. The plus is pace of play. Played on a Sunday in 4 hours. Probably because nobody is play big here.

Usually a great course and friendly atmosphere. Enter course is under renovation, morning staff was not the most friendly, and several pair fours were split to accommodate other holes being closed. This experience was a let down to my first firm playing there.

Course in rough shape
This course has always been under some state of repair as long as I can remember. As of recently, they have split the par 5 hole #1 into two holes, and hole #4 is out of play. The signage is somewhat confusing. The greens are a little beat up, but the rest of the playing surface is in the usual shorecliffs state.
Worst Golf Course in North America
My advice is to play this golf course once so you will feel better about any other golf course you ever play. In 25 years of playing golf, I have never seen a course so completely awful.
If you love golf, you will hate it after playing here.
If you are new to golf, you will never want to play again.
If you are good at golf, it will take you weeks to recover.
I think the course is a practical joke put on by somebody. If that is the case. Good job!
