Shorecliffs Golf Club

I enjoy playing this course, always seems to be some morning availability. Tee boxes ae in rough condition. Not sure what happened, but when I asked if I could ride alone that charged me an extra $10. After the round I found out I was the only one who was charged....everyone else rode a single cart and was not charged.

Course is awful! It has been under renovations seemingly for years and it’s in no better shape than when I played over 10 years ago. Not even worth the low green fees that they charge. Play somewhere else!

Definitely one of my go to courses around here in Southern California. Gives me a challenge every time I go there. Course is looking great. Love how they’ve kept it looking good.

On the front nine there are two closed holes that make for a lot of extra cart time... I would not want to walk this course for this reason alone.

There were some slight rough patches on the fairway, but I thought it was fine. I didn’t have too much dirt in the way of the ball.

Decent sand in the sand traps and nice greens.

The course is under construction, but that part of the course isn’t even the problem. The course extremely under watered resulting in lies on bare, hard dirt in the middle of the fairway. Most of the greens have fissures and missing spots on them, which kills the enjoyment of the course even on the holes that are well put together. I also got a cart that had a roof that was somehow full of water and kept dripping on me whenever I braked. Marshall did not enforce pace of play, and staff was unfriendly.

Stay away until this becomes a golf course. Don’t know how they can call themselves a proper golf course?

Had a good day on the course with my neighbor in super weather. This course in its day was one of the best test of "GOLF" in orange county, so much that many thought it to be too hard. Currently the course is being remodeled/improved etc with several of its most challenging holes divided into two less challenging holes, etc. Still interesting to play and with the new water holes will be scenic as well as a nice place to play golf. Most impressive note on this day is that the course now offers Golf carts with plastic dividers between driver and passenger; which during this current time of covid is a very welcome addition. I commend the management and all its employees for taking this pandemic serious and providing a safer environment in which to play!!

In over two years, no improvement of total course repairs done.Just moving from one mess to another. close course and do all repairs at once, then reopen!

The course is in terrible shape at the moment, some holes are closed, others have poor fairways and they squeezed extra holes in it, e.g. making out of one par 5 a par 4 and a par 3. The back nine are closed. So go only to sShorecliffs if you look for a cheap alternative to hit some balls on the range, at least until the complete remodel is done. The staff is on the other hand very friendly and the clubhouse has some good old days charme.
