About
Shorecliffs Golf Course wanders through the coastal canyons and valleys of San Clemente, heading towards the beautiful shoreline. Situated just steps from the ocean, the course enjoys cool ocean breezes and a temperate climate, which makes it a year-round haven for golfers. Its location also provides the golf course with plenty of scenic ocean views. The course features narrow fairways tightly lined with trees and small greens bordered by sand bunkers. The front nine is shorter and requires more accuracy than the longer, wider back nine. Shorecliffs opens with one of the trickiest par-5s in the area. This dogleg left hole features trouble both left and right. Although the layout does offer a fair challenge, players of all skill levels will feel comfortable taking on the golf course.

Don’t waste your money
Played course 6 months ago it was in good shape. Now multiple holes are closed and they turned the first par 5 into a 3 and 4. Never playing here again. Complete rip off. They don’t mention it being a par 66 on golf now. It says 71 when you book it.
Needs to finish remodel
Houses falling on fairways are never easy to fix but it's been 15 years so hopefully this course will be 100% soon

Reconstruction
First time playing - the entire course is under renovation (From what appears to be a ton of neglect). -Very spread out, Lots of driving through narrow underpasses with drainage water. fairways were bumpy like cow pastures, However. greens were in good shape. Some very challenging par 5 holes. Wouldn’t recommend it until they are done with reconstruction.

Great day for considering the heat wave we've been having. The course was a little wet and the 5th Hole was closed. Overall the course 17 holes took us 3 hrs. to finish.

A Course in transition
Shorecliff continues to work on getting the course in shape with several improvements including breaking s tough 1st hole par 5 into a par 3 and a drivable par 4. New water features and trimming along some of the valley sidings helps keep the ball in play.
Played today in just over three hours.

Has potential - once repairs are done
I really would have a hard time recommending it for now, unless it is the only tee time you can get. That was the case for us. Short narrow course, narrow with extensive renovations going on. Not the most picturesque course, but some challenging holes here, greens in decent shape. It will probably be worth a visit in the future but for now I would look for other options.
I think they could probably do the regular course maintenance during off hours....this was 11am on a Friday.

Course is being redone
Course is going through renovations. Had i known this, I wouldn’t have booked this course and I wouldn’t have driven 60 miles to play here. I’m sure the course will be great once it’s been renovated. I’ll most likely play here again when everything is completed.

Construction interferes everywhere. Slow slow slow play. Greens are nice but everything else sucks.
Comfortable Coastal Course
Enjoyed playing Shorecliff GC again this week. Weather gorgeous near the ocean. Course is good shape, could use a little extra water, but greens perfect. Looking forward to new water features at first and fifth holes now under construction, and for the new clubhouse.

Only for Practice
They are doing so much work on the course, you can't get a real score here. Golf Now should have an alert for courses undergoing work even if it's only aeration. This course is undergoing a huge overhaul. I wouldn't have played here if I had known.
