Good value with hot deal would not pay $ 30 for twilight rate here

For the money $34 per person, which included the cart, it was okay. However, there is little or no forgiveness on this course. If you do not hit your shots consistently up the middle, then as Tony Soprano would say, Fuh-ged-a-bout it! Some holes are lined with steep hills and you would have to be a billy goat to even think about finding an errant shot. I think that I am a fairly consistent senior golfer (82 - 92); however, even playing from the forward tees, I lost four balls. If you are a below average golfer, don't play this course as you will end up eating your clubs for lunch.

The biggest highlight was that Richard Nixon played this course. Very backed up at our starting time. 3 hours for 10 holes and we just had to quit. Overflowing water under the tunnel to the back nine. Otherwise, I doubt I'll be back.

After reading a ton of reviews, I was not expecting much. I was very please by the condition of the course. Sure it's no private club, but it the majority of the course was in good condition. I only played 1 hole that needed some work. Greens were very good. Course is pretty challenging. And a great value overall. I will be back.

This is a hidden gem, very reasonably priced and it has a number of challenging holes. It's uncrowded early in the morning, the best time to play when the cloud cover keeps it nice and cool, later the sun comes out. We had a great round of golf.

Workers could care less who was approaching greens. They did not move. I could not believe I had to walk over and move the guys tools off the green to chip on! He just sat there. I would be addressing the ball and workers would not stop vehicles, just passed on by. I was scheduled a tee time and did not get off until 45 min later. Don't bother hitting the range, balls are not worth hitting. Bring own towels, cooler. I believe the course is changing holes/layout due to erosion issues. Check the status before going.

Lately they have been packing more and more groups consecutively. Maybe it's the fact that it's summer and you can't beat the price for Southern California.

Decided to play this course because it was going to be 20 degrees cooler than where I normally play. Driving range was 20 yards from first tee. We went off as a twosome, in front and behind a twosome. Pace of play was excellent. Fairways were beautiful on most every hole. Some areas on a few fairways had small bad spots, but if you hit the right club there were no issues on the fairways. Back nine much more challenging than front nine. I hit 4iron off the tee on several of the par4 holes because of the narrow fairways. The par 5s were reachable in 2 shots on all but 1. Overall an excellent, challenging course for the avid golfer.

I was told that we would see the ocean in at list 3 holes...a 3 wood distance, not so you can hardly see the ocean in one hole..

The course condition is awful, the smell of waste water is horrible and the worst part is that you have to cross under tunnels of waste water and not light inside...HORRIBLE SMELL

I waste my money and had the worst 18 holes in my life...I have been playing during 60 years at least and played all around south America, central America and Canada...besides Spain, England and Scotland.

Most of the course needs repair.

The fairways are mostly dead grass and very bumpy.

Price is a great deal, but you get what you pay for.

It's warming up in Southern California. You can golf inland and be in the middle of the heat, or you can go to Shorecliffs and be a stone's throw (they call it a 9-iron) away from the beach. Only one hole, of course, but you get the idea. It was much cooler on a warm Tuesday afternoon.

The course has some rough patches. Grass isn't everywhere but that's o.k. If you don't mind moving your ball a little bit this way or that. And the green are very good.

Had a great front nine, but holes 11-13 are killer. 11 is a par 5 that you need to hit the fairway. And it's narrow. 12 is a blind tee-shot, especially from the blues. Big hitters do well on these two holes IF they hit it straight. The 13th hole is diabolical. I talk myself into a bad shot EVERYTIME and I usually hit the ball straight. But not at this hole.

#15 is a bit unfair as the fairway slopes toward the drainage ditch unless you can bomb it, which I can't. Get past these holes and have a pretty round. And, as always, going through the tunnels is fun.

I guess I just expected more from this place, the greens are the stars of this course, they roll true. There are no Ocean views but it was 114 degrees in the iE where I live....it didn't get above 90 here so that's why I will come back on blistering days. All in all...good value, great greens and you just can't beat the weather

My first time playing here...also my last. This is quite possibly the most poorly maintained course I've ever played and I've played some cow pastures in the Midwest. Tee boxes were horrible, uneven, bare, you name it. The fairways were more of the same. Hit one down the middle and you're lucky to find grass or maybe mowed weeds. But you're also just as likely to be on hard pan. I don't mean just a small bare patch; I mean large areas of junk. I've read other reviews raving about the greens...meh. They're small but ok. The rest of the place is a dump. Needs to be razed and rebuilt. My cart was so slow, I thought I needed to get out and push. Fun fact: Squirrels travel in herds, as witnessed by the dozens populating the "fairways".

greens were good, fairways are mixed nice and bad. pace of play was good. too many tunnels to go through. some of the layouts were kind of funky.

Great place for the price

Shorecliffs is-what-it-is. It's a place to get out and play and practice your game without forking over too much green stuff. For most people, that should be more than enough. Personally, I like the layout and score pretty well, but that's beside the point. At the end of the day, you're hitting a golf ball around a course and it really shouldn't matter how nice the course is. What really matters is your swing and how you're hitting the ball.

I never write reviews about anything but after my total disgust with this course I felt it necessary. The greens were the only acceptable part of this course. The tee boxes and fairways were very poorly kept. The rate of play was terrible. The front 9 was fast but the back 9 was backed up by groups of 4 or 5 one after another. On top of waiting on other golfers, the grounds keeper was watering the green of a par 3 with a garden hose while I waited in the tee box to tee off. The course overall was dirty with all the tunnels you have to drive through that smell like dead fish. The worst golf experience I've ever had.

Second time playing this course. I'm a beginner but this course is still fun. Front 9 moved along quick but got stuck behind a couple groups on the back 9. Great course for the price I paid on golfnow. Will def be back.
