About
Bartow Golf Course is a municipal course that offers an affordable yet challenging round. The course has a classic design with an interesting mix of holes that range from being wide open to narrow and tree lined. The postage-stamp-sized greens demand accuracy and there are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. Build up your score on the front nine before tackling the tougher back nine. The golf course has enough challenges to keep more advanced players satisfied but it's forgiving enough to appeal to beginners as well. One of the most memorable holes is the par-3 13th. There is a tree that stands right in the middle of the fairway, forcing you to either go over or try to get around and risk going in the sand trap.

Had fun
A great course to have so fun on, greens were a little slow, looked to have been reseeded ?? but in all the course is in good shape. Will return to play again.
the fairways had been over seeded so they were wet, several of the greens had not been cut. Tee Offs seemed to be uncut and rough.
The course was in rough shape, nothing mowed. Greens were slow because not mowed. Staff said it was reseeded. Got through 12 holes, then got held up by a shotgun start league or tournament. Waited 15 minutes to tee off, then the maintenance crew took over the green we were about to play. Nice course but have always had problems with people jumping in front or fivesomes slowing up the play. Probably won't play again.
Nice track
Nice older course. In good shape The driving range proximity to the course is a little disconcerting on a few holes.
This course has a good variety of holes
The greens had been over seeded and were quite shaggy in places , also the greens had been top dressed and there were tony rock pebbles in the sand . Green should be good in a week or so when they are cut and the rocks removed

80 degrees and a pleasant breeze. used the same ball and wood tee for the entire 18 holes. who could ask for anything more?

Not bad at all for the money. I got out early and finished fairly quickly.

Greens are in good shape for this course. Would love to see more people support the course. I always enjoy playing here.
Playing The 'Tow'
Unfortunately, off the 1st tee...got behind a 5-some.. & by the time we got to hole 16, we were behind 2 5-somes !! Was a beautiful day, so we just enjoyed & did a little extra practice putting...Greens slow, & some have "issues", but the rest of the course was fine.
Course Conditions
Fairways and most tees are in very good condition compared to other courses I have played in this area. Thank you.
Nice but the course pro needs to learn some etiquette
The course was fine for Florida in April. Pace of play was great. However whoever the course pro is there that is conducting classes need to allow people to play thru on there hole before dismissing kids and parents to just cut thru the fairway while there are golfers in the course. The course claimed the pro didn't work for them. I was disappointed in the course for their response to letting it happen. I hope this doesn't happen to other golfers.
The Greens could be better
Really liked the course - too bad greens were not better. Better Greens and the average rating would increase to good.
great lunch
Pro shop staff were very helpful. The course was playable for the price. Greens were very slow and bumpy. Fairways were spotty, so we played lift-clean-place which was a good choice. Lunch was outstanding. Good value and good food. We joined up with another twosome that made our day. Very friendly.

this course leaves a lot to be desired
we were really shocked at the overall condition of the course. Yes there were some holes closed to due the previous rainy week but the greens were really bad and the fairways were more sand than grass. It has been 2 years since we played it last and it will be a long time before we return.
Need work
The course was awful, no grass on the fairways and the greens need a lot of work. Pace of play was good but that's about all. Will not play again.

Greens didn't look fast but had a moderate pace to them.
