Absolute gem this course. Even the majesty of the Dunluce links adjacent

didnt detract from our experience. £60 in the summer is a bit rich for my liking but winter golf here takes some beating. The Valley lLinks is worth a visit as a stand alone course

The Valley course at Portrush only suffers in comparison to the renowned Dunluce course right beside it. It's an excellent course in it's own right. Shorter & more forgiving but still a very good links test.

The condition of the course following weeks of rain was first class. Only one hole shortened to a par 3 and no temporary greens. The fairways were as firm as in the summer.

A lot of work to the bunkers going on but not really affecting your round - even when it did you could forgive it when you see the quality of the work they are doing and the overall upgrade it will be to the course when finished. First class.

Overall a very enjoyable experience & great value for money, especially when the parkland courses struggle when the weather is as wet as it has been. Links courses like this are great all year round.

One caveat would be to check in January & February as I believe they may insist on playing off mats on the fairways.

Hidden Gem when compared to the crowds on the first tee of the Dunluce next door. Course was mostly empty bar a few groups.

Course in excellent condition - one of the best iv ever played and will most definitely be back again.

If you are late to book a tee time at Royal Port Rush, the Valley which runs along side, is a good alternative. Be aware that if you book at tee time and you are a solo or twosome, that’s the way you will play. Most course will not add any players to a tee time, so, as a solo, I played alone at four courses I’d booked. Also, carts (buggies) are few and far between and one needs a doctors statement to use one. So, at 75, with two knee replacements, I walked the course. Royal Dublin, Port Marnock and BallyCastle issued a buggy at my request.. Women playing the Valley are viewed as in the way of male golfers.

This course exceeded our expectations. We heard it is the little course when compared to the Dunluce, and it is, however, it is a great course. We played 18 in 3 hrs and 10 minutes as a twosome. Stray shots are penalized. Good shots are treated fairly. Beautiful course especially for the price.

This has to be one of my favourite courses. It was in immaculate condition, the greens were beautifully manicured and like lightning. We played it on a perfect sunny autumn day. Derek in the Starter's office was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

The only issue was we were a two ball and we were stuck behind 3 four balls. The pace of play was so slow.

Best value we’ve had golfing in Ireland the pro course is great but the valley at 1/6th price is as good.

In ok condition with fairways a bit ragged.

Holes very samey with limited danger apart from rough either side.

Played the Valley last Friday on a windy day (I reckon it was about 50 yards difference with / into the wind; on 11 I drove it 340 yards or so with the wind, on 12 I drove it 240 yards into the wind with just as good a strike). The course was still playing on mats but that didn't really detract from the experience. Only one green was closed for reseeding, other than that the course was in great condition for late March.

The Valley course has lost two holes (5th and 6th) for the new holes on the Dunluce links. You can get a good look at the new holes for the Dunluce from the 5th tee of the Valley. The rearranged version of the Valley is great and I'm not sure the old holes would have made it any better. The holes gained (17th and 18th) are a nice way to end your round.

Overall, I was happy with my afternoon of golf. Not sure it would be worth £50, but if you can get it on a Hot Deal at £20 then go for it.

Spectacular!! A wonderful days golf. Had a balls up with my booking and pro was super helpful and sorted me out. There was alot of work going on as the open is next year but never stopped us from having a fantastic day out. Had to hit of matts on fairways which wasn't good and I feel totally unnecessary with it being a links. Tee box's, fairways and greens in great shape. Greens were very quick as expected. There was a few changes in the hole lay outs but other than a temporary green on the 15 th you wouldn't notice the changes. Facilities were average considering this course is part of royal portrush. I would like to see the royal being extended to this course but not effect the price which was super at £20. Will Deffo b back in the summer.

Great venue, weather benign, course in great order but when booked we we’re not told that mats were in use and 2 holes out of play. Will be back to enjoy again.

Really enjoyable course which is possible to score on. played in the middle of winter and the condition was great. Don't remember seeing any fairway bunkers which was strange. If you get the opportunity do not hesitate to play here

Really enjoyed this golf course, especially the par 3's, the course was in good condition and greens perfect, can't wait to play it again

Staff fantastic and gladly made tea and coffee"to warm you up a bit" before and after play....despite the heavy rain the previous week course was great , rough not overly punishing as some links courses can be.... looking forward to another round in the future. Clem.

Beautiful course. Rain was expected, but we hardly had any rain. There is always wind. Fantastic linkscourse. They changed two holes for The Open in 2019 to make space for the grandstand. If you would know you would not even see it. On my golfwatch I just skipped two holes. The 17th and 18th are new, but it looked like they were always like that. Great course.

The Valley Links, home of the Rathmore Golf Club, has always been the overlooked links at the Royal Portrush Golf Club. All of its holes sit in the bottom of a bowl of dunes below the Dunluce Links - a proper symbol of its status.

And when the Dunluce Links needed more land for two new holes to be put in play at The Open in 2019, it stole from the Valley Links. What the Valley lost with the demolition of its fifth and sixth holes, it gained in four new or altered finishing holes designed by architect Martin Ebert.

The new 171-yard 15th hole drops off of a dune, playing directly into the wind. The extended 16th hole (the old 17th) has been stretched into a reachable par 5. The new 194-yard 17th hole finishes at a plateau green that was one of the original greens at the club still used as part of the pitch-and-putt Skerries nine. The round ends downwind with a new 333-yard, short par 4 that will leave your confidence soaring. The view from this tee might be the best view from any tee at Royal Portrush, cementing the Valley's legacy as one of the best links in all of Ireland, not just Northern Ireland.
