Great course not for beginners
This is a beautiful, long and challenging course. The fairways are kept really nice but punishing play if you can't keep it in the fairway. Very tough but fun course to play. Loved playing it!!
Fun N Branson
Had a good time playing the course. IT was our first time and it was wet ground wise but in very good shape. We would play again and recommend it to people who want to plan a very nice course when in the Branson area.
Payne Course
Phenomenal. Carr path only due to heavy rains prior and it was still in exceptional condition. Silver tees were a challenge. Can't imagine going back further.
Tough Course
Course played extremely tough. Course was a little on the wet side because of recent rains, so it played long. I was not used to this type of fairway grass and greens. Never could figure out the greens. It was a nice layout, but a little strange in that the 9th hole did not finish at the clubhouse. Overall it was a very nice course. However, it is very pricey. If not for golf now.com, I would not have booked it. At $55.00 that was at the very top of my limit.
Hilly course with challenging greens
Wow! Beautiful course with huge elevation changes and challenging green complexes. Plenty of risk/reward decisions, so place your tee shots carefully. Generous landing areas on most holes. The greens have strong breaks and pronounced tiers, so approach shots need to be precise or 3 putts are lurking. Every hole is unique and memorable.
Gorgeous course in the Branson hills!
I have played golf in quite a few places and so far this has to be one of my top 5 to have ever played. Some of the views off the tee box are breathtaking, both for their beauty and when you realize you are trying to hit that tiny fairway a couple hundred feet down! Bring your A game to play this one, if you don't it will be a long day!
Greens
The course was beautiful as well as the views, but the greens were, inconsistent.
hole descriptions were filled with history
good course if you don't worry about the score, can be challenging once you make a bad shot,
Loved Payne Stewart and Payne Stewart Course
Great experience. Beautiful layout, well maintained. Every hole is a signature hole worthy of a picture on your office wall!!! I would definitely play it again...as a matter of fact I DID play it again 2 days later and liked it just as much the second time.
Challenging yet fair
Beautiful scenic course, green speeds are fair considering the greens have a lot of slope. Proper amount of tee boxes. One caution, if you can't break par don't play the last two boxes. This course is difficult do everyone a favor and move up. Enjoy the round and the scenery.
A must-play for your Branson weekend
Along with Buffalo Springs and the Top of the Rock, no golf trip to the Branson area is complete without a round at Payne Stewart. The clubhouse is a nice tribute to the legendary golfer whose life was cut too short. The course, meanwhile, winds up and down rolling hills and lends itself to some really neat holes. The opener is a nice downhill tee shot that helps get the confidence going, but the finish is quite stern: two long par 4s uphill that make you earn your final score in a big way. Most holes are wooded on both sides, and I hope it's able to retain it's quiet, forested atmosphere as the growing residential development builds out over the coming years. I was particularly impressed with the conditions, considering it rained quite heavily all morning long before we were able to get out.
Stunning Scenery
From the 1st T to the last, this course is Amazing. The Scenery is incredible. The fairways are well kept. & the 2nd cut is challenging.
Enjoyed a relaxing round
This was the first time we have played this course and we would certainly return. The course conditions were excellent considering it was mid April. The course is very hilly and it is important to determine where you are going to place your shots. Most greens have significant undulations. The colourful fish under the bridge on hole #17 are a sight to behold! It is definitely a course worth playing.
Great Round of golf
The course is challenging for a resort course and at the same time open.
Beautiful course but
Really enjoyed the course and the facilities and friendly staff, but the carts need gps to identify yardages, they have an app to download but it really doesn't function that well and I don't enjoy carrying my phone with me and constantly checkingthe app while trying to play such a nice course. Overall a great place to play especially for the hot deal I recieved
Challenging but Rewarding
Played this course for the first time and was impressed from start to finish. From the clubhouse to the driving range to the course itself, it was a pleasure. We played late in the year and it was in great condition.
The course was challenging and narrow in many areas but it also offered some holes that afforded a little less accuracy. This course has it's share of water and bunkers that are well placed but often resulted in some frustration.
We will be back to play this course again next year!
4guysin branson
Course looked to be in good shape. It had been raining most of the Night, its a killer if you have to walk to your ball from the cart path. Look for a sunny warm day and play it. Thought the Pro Shop people could have been nicer. Resturant in club house was good and quick
Great course and wonderful scenery
Will play again next spring and possibly next fall
Great Mountain Golfing
Maybe the best outing this year.
We've been to The Quarry and LA Cantera; Paakoridge Ridge, Cochiti, and UNM Championship Course; Holiday Hills and Payne Stewart; Star Ranch
Great staff
Friendly all the way around. From our greeting in the parking lot to the check-in desk to the Resturant. I look forward to playing there again.
