Strange course
Played some years ago and remember it being a very wet course. This time hot and sunny. Course itself is quite picturesque with tight driving holes mostly tree lined. A few issues though. Below the trees there is really thick overgrown rough. You could lose a bucket of balls if offline. Other issue is layout with long walks between holes (the 9th to 10th felt like 1/2 a mile). Poor signage directions all the way round. As it was hot and parkland there were millions of flies. Recommend walking round the course with a good guide and a fly spray!
Golf on 12 july
Great day for golf, just beat the weather course in good condition greens superb,my game improving
Good day out
As with most courses in early April still a lot of growth needed but the course is a good test and a nice walk .
An enjoyable place to play .
Good course just baldly signage to tell you were next tee is especially from 9th to 10th you have to walk 5mins across a road had to ask a member for help we spend 10 min looking. Also because of slopes and lack of signs it was hard to know which direction the fairways were so sometimes we were hitting in completely wrong line because tee box markers pointing the in wrong line. Course in good condition. Would like to gi bback and play again.
Always delivers
Blackwwod was fully open all greens playing at this time of year is a great credit to the greens staff. Although a bit slow the pace of them, we all had a very enjoyable afternoon.
Terrible sign posted.
Terrible sign posted to the back 9. Wasted 10-15 minutes trying to find it.
Would not recommend. Very difficult to know where the next whole is throughout the course.
Always in great condition
As always in great condition always finish a round here wanting to come back immediately!
A day at Blackwood Mahee
In general we were very happy with our day. Let down however by the lady in reception who informed us that we could not participate in the Open Competition as we bought our round with GolfNow!! Generously offered to let us play if we paid another £20 each - bit of a shambles so we declined obviously!!
Good course, long walk and hilly but nice views, great course condition, good greens and a good challenge.
Challenging
The course was OK for the £20 we paid, the only thing I would say is there needs to be more signs around the course directing you to the next tee box for 1st time players of the course. Otherwise value for money..
Smashing value for money!
Just on the outskirts of Belfast and well worth the money, would be £70 a round if situated in the city.
Great for beginners and great players alike.
Can't wait to get back.
