spectacular views

1st time playing St Deniol Bangor, it was probably the toughest course ive played only after St Mellion.

The par threes were a real challenge as it was blowing a hoolie and it always seemed to be wind against

The views were superb specially from the 16 th tee. A few of the holes were blind and you had to drive

over a marker with fingers crossed... All in all terrific course, I,ll def be back

Good Day Out

Great course in great nick. Would recommend going with at least a three ball, as a lot of four balls on the course.

Bangor GC

first time playing Bangor, course was in great nick, greens were very good. a few too many straight par4’s, but most greens well guarded by bunkers. bunkers themselves were a let down, the sand was incredibly grainy/rocky. Any staff or members on the day were all welcoming and friendly

In great condition

I've played Bangor a number of times, although not for over a year. There's been a lot of work done with drainage since I last played, and it's made a huge difference (as well as the recent spell of good weather) The course today was in fantastic condition, with firm and fast fairways and greens were superb as always. All in all a great afternoon stsrting friendly service in the pro shop followed by equally good service in the bar.

Disappointing

Too many fairways are essentially the same. Not enough variety to make playing 18 interesting and challenging.

Also some fairways were much wetter underfoot than expected for this time of the year. We were told it was preferred lies off the fairway: the first time we have been told this this year and we have played six courses in Ards and Down area over past three weeks

August 2024. Course if great shape

Typical 100 year old parkland course ( like Shandon, Masserene, Knock etc).

Course was in great condition after a wet summer... I've posted other courses this week and Bangor was definitely in better shaper.

Course is a decent challenge, tight enough but not too bad. Need to drive it half decent. If you're offline though you generally shouldn't lose a ball.

Worth a game here, decent value.

Bangor GC

Nice parkland course, which is well maintained and offers a reasonable challenge. Greens were in good condition and running reasonably fast. Enjoyable round, will be back.

Sunday 30/6/24

New drainage system being installed. If I hadn't played before I wouldn't off been able to navigate around the course difficult to know which hole and direction to go after each green

Big improvements at Bangor

New drainage dug out has made a massive difference. This course used to be only playable 6 months a year with the other 6 being like a bog but they fitted all new large drains and made lots of improvements throughout. Great to see as this is a lovely course in the heart of Bangor.

Well worth it.

Course was in fantastic condition considering our recent bad weather. Played at 4.15pm so it wasn't very busy which was good. The pro shop was closed but cards were available outside of the shop. Will definitely be back.
