Blackwood Golf Centre - Hamilton

When we arrived on the tee 10 minutes before our tee off time we were told at that point that a society had the tee booked until 1.34. Two minutes after our tee off time. The last two groups were not golfers they were playing with borrowed clubs. The was more denim than a wild west show and some lovely tee shirts. I thought in was watching a documentary about Brits abroad in Benidorm! The last group before were slightly more cultured as the brought their own drinks waiter to keep them refreshed. They used their empty cans very well also a tee off markers on most of the holes. I enjoyed the nature work they engaged in though. From keeping the rough mowed to trimming branches and the odd venture into the heather bushes, I say odd but I meant they were odd to watch at every hole. We walked off at the 7th 3 hours later, how we had the patience is beyond me. By this stage the grounds man had to keep reminding these guys that the sun was dangerous for their skin so best to put your designer tee shirts back on. We arrived back at the pro shop hoping for an apology and an opportunity to come back another time and start again. No apology but we could return and play the last 9 some time, No! Surprisingly no class for a course owned by a member of the aristocracy.

I used the GolfNow app for the first time and took advantage of the "hot deal" at Blackwood Hamilton along with 3 friends. We all had never played the course before and were all very very impressed. It was excellent, both the layout and its condition. We will all be back again I'm sure!

Decent course great value for money would recommend to others and would play again myself
