2.5 hours for 9 holes

Booked a Monday lunchtime tee time, grounds staff were on the first four holes, strimmer, mower and leaf blower, didn’t stop when approaching the green. Let us stand there until they were finished. There was also an over 70s comp on so it took us 2.5 hours to get to the 9th, 3 or 4 groups backed up at each tee from 4th onward. We walked off and went home. I’ve been to a lot of very busy courses around the country, nothing has been nearly as bad as this.

Why didn’t Golf Now note the greens had just been heavily sanded before we paid

Disappointed - we came all the way from London & included the course on our rota of four games over the weekend as we played it in 2022 & liked it but we felt tricked when we played the greens as we had paid full green fees without knowing or being made aware that the greens had been punched and sanded, which made the enjoyment of the course that much poorer. Finesse and layout elsewhere fantastic as was the hospitality.

Genuine Mistake

I would like to report that Kilkeel Golf club have contacted me and offered me a free ‘4 ball’ in lieu of my disappointment of not getting to play on Thursday 20 June. They are genuinely apologetic. This is a very generous gesture and I really appreciate their efforts to accommodate me. We look forward to meeting up in the very near future.

Thank you Kilkeel Golf Club

Major Disappointment

Kilkeel Golf club were greedy and booked in a Society at short notice and changed our 2 ball tee-off to a time unsuitable to us. We didn’t know until we arrived at the course and were surprised to see so many golfers at the first tee. We were told the club tried to contact us the previous day to change our tee-off time, which we wouldn’t have agreed to as we had work commitments. We had no alternative but to leave the course. Very very disappointing and no effort to recompense us for the inconvenience. We travelled for almost an hour to play in Kilkeel ☹️☹️☹️☹️

What a hidden gem!!

Made the trip from Belfast to play Kilkeel Golf Course as a present for my father. What a place. Had some road closures on the way down and rang the pro shop who were only to glad to adjust our tee time. Pulled up to the course and the clubhouse was the first thing we saw, very impressive building. Everyone we bumped into along the way were friendly. The course itself was in incredible condition on a beautiful day. Greens were the best I’ve been on this year. I’ll be recommending Kilkeel Golf Course to anyone who will listen from now on. We will definitely be back again.

Great back on full course

Yes it was great being on green marker on tee boxes and the full 18 holes open. Greens were good and typically slow this time of the year. A couple of tee boxes need some TLC they being ridge backed e.g 11th. Brilliant weather made it a wonderful day’s golf (my score needs improvement)!

Lovely greens

Well done KGC for keeping all regulation greens open and in great shape given recent weather. Our three ball so enjoyed the round.
