Southwinds Golf Course
About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

Nice course for the money, green in good condition and staff was very nice
Everything was ok for money we paid , we probably plat that course again
Today at Southwinds
An average South Florida Golf Now course with a few quirky holes, but fun to play. Conditions good, not great.
Always an enjoyable round of golf!
Great layout, not long , not too difficult but it’s not easy either.
Greens and bunkers always in great shape.
Nice people at the pro shop, the starter and as you come in after your round.
Usually has a great pace of play.
Great course HORRIBLE STAFF!
The course is beautiful, however the staff has to be the most unfriendly and portly managed staff I’ve ever seen. It’s really easy to have a good time playing golf, but not with rude employees. The cart lady was nice but not anyone else.
Great Local Public Course!
I just moved to South Florida from Minnesota last month. I have played Southwinds a few times now. It is the closest championship 18 from my house, and it has great value for the money, as do all the PBC courses. Compared to other courses, its not the longest but all the par 4's and both par 5's are "legit" only one par 4 that is under 300 yards from the back tees, and both par 5's are 3 shots to the green for most golfers, so please don't be turned off by the short course reviews. Its a great course for mid level handicaps. The clubhouse is nice, staff is friendly, beer and food is cheap, nice practice green, a floating pond driving range. It has all you could need.
Something that may turn people away, is this course has a lot of regulars who treat the course like their country club and have expectations for their rounds to go a certain way, If you are a single or a twosome there is a good chance you will get paired up during the ideal times of day. Most people are nice and welcoming, but not everyone is loose. I had one group welcome me to join them anytime they had an opening, and another group that got mad at me hitting from the back tees when they were playing up, and had a critical comment every hole it seemed. But that's part of living in South Florida also, if you can tolerate that, it won't deter you from coming back.
Beautiful & challenging Audubon Course!!!
Teed off during a storm, an hour in playing in beautiful sun. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Had the course nearly to ourselves. Several water holes requiring decision to go for it or lay up. Fairways and greens in good shape (greens were recently punched). Lots of wonderful wildlife on every hole! Will definitely play again!
Not Bad
Only played nine holes while here on vacation. The course is a typical Florida course, but it’s on the shorter side. Good course conditions.
Finally got to play here
I've heard nothing but good things about Southwinds and finally got to play it myself. As everyone knows it is definitely on the short side but that was by no means made it easy. A straight tee shot will leave you with a PW or SW into the greens. The greens were just punched so they did run a bit slow. The force carry or lay up holes were the best on the course that provided the most challenge. Pace of lay became extremely slow on the back 9 even for a Saturday afternoon round, Would of liked to of seen a Ranger out and about get on the group in front of us that were maybe a little to wasted and were just hacking up the course. The bar had 2 dollar draft beers which is always a plus. Will be back soon!
We're glad to hear that we were able to live up to the "hype." Thanks so much for coming out to play and for leaving such a great review. We very much look forward to seeing you again soon.
CHALLENGING
1st time here. Greens were nice. Recently aerated, but almost fully healed. Bah had a few bumps, but thats fine. Greens rolled good.
Tee boxes were in good shape.
Only thing I am not fond of was the layout. Its "open", but weird. Course is somewhat barren. Not many trees. 16 with the driving range net there was ugly.
Would I go back.....on a $17 hot deal yes! Doubt I ever would pay a penny more.
We played the tips (6000 yards)....dont be fooled by the length or lack-of, it is a hard course that demands accuracy.
Lots of forced carries over water will reward you with short wedges to the green. Lay up and its 165+ yards to the green.
You hit the nail on the head... we're not the longest course in town, but you must think your way around to post a good score. Our only suggestion would be to check pbcgolf.com when booking so you can avoid paying any booking fees; during the summer months our rates are extremely affordable. Thanks again and we will see you again soon.
A truly enjoyable golf course!
This is a great little course. It has a fun layout. Great condition of greens, bunkers and tees. Not long but still challenging as you truly have to position your ball in the right place to go to the green.
I always come out smiling. Probably one of the best values in South Florida.
What a fantastic review! You hit the nail right on the head with everything you've said and we can't thank you enough for your continued support!
I Love Southwinds!
Longer than an Executive Course but shorter than many Championship Courses. Like the story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, sometimes that's just right!
Good and Caring Staff at Bag Drop, Office, and Lounge Area.
Course Conditions are often a step ahead of other courses in the area.
I played 3 consecutive days last week with this being my 3rd and last for a couple of days. Being a bit tired from the 2 previous days playing longer Championship Courses made playing here on the 3rd day the obvious choice.
I will continue to play here regularly.
Thank you so much for stopping by on your vacation. We hope that next time you're in the area you will have time to play all 18.
