About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

Fun course
Water water everywhere - played from green was very interesting - great course

Played here because the it was relatively cheap, but the value was not worth it. The course layout was ok, 13 is an absolute joke. The greens are absolute TRASH. There was more sand than there was grass, made it impossible to putt.
It sounds like you caught us right after aerification, and for that we apologize. We do our very best to let very player know about conditions before checking in and we always alert GolfNow when we are doing maintenance so they can add the proper icons. C'mon back soon as the course is in fantastic shape.
1-3 and 13 are tricked up
Holes 1-3; plus, 13 need a redesign. They know it and so do most golfers that play Southwinds on a regular basis. I play Southwinds every so often, simply because its 15 minutes away and not expensive. Beats going to the range.
Course conditions slightly under average, but the greens (usually decent) had weed bumps everywhere.
All PBC area courses should take a clue from Osprey Point.

Southwinds play
Had a very nice day, course and greens are in good shape. There was no rush and moderate traffic of other players, we were never rushed. Enjoyed the day very much.
Sounds like you had the course all to yourself! Hopefully that allowed you to take in some of the awesome wildlife that calls Southwinds home. See you again soon!

Nice outing
Interesting golf course. Short but interesting. Had good company which makes for a good friendly game.
Staff was not overly welcoming but we were provided with detailed hole description which was greatly appreciated.

Great public course for the money
They paired me up with to local golfer and man did they play fast. They pointed out all the hazards and gave me good advise on where to place the ball. The course was in very good shape and the greens were fast. The fairways were forgiving and the sand bunkers played like quick sand. After the front 9, I was humbled. The guys I played with should me all the play up holes and allowed me to keep the ball in play. We finished the round in three and a half hours.
Great time, great price great course.

Nice Course
This is a nice little Course, a little short, but with enough hazards to make it challenging. Fairways, tee boxes and greens were in decent condition, and the greens were sneaky fast. Starter got us out ahead of our tee time since we were only a threesome and we were thankful for that because there was a wave of "experienced" foursomes about to tee off. We ended up playing entire round in just over 3 hours but had we been behind those players it would've surely been a 5 hour round. Overall a good experience. Recommended.

Fairway or nice looking rough?
I've played here a few times each year. The greenskeeping seems to deteriorate slightly but steadily. Fairways are getting sparse. Some cups not sunk the required 1 inch. Edges of cups beat up (cup locations not recently changed). I used to consider Southwinds to be an excellent public course. Now just OK. They won't let you take a cart to the range (which is not worth the effort as they use the floater balls).
Course is reasonable for money, average County course .
Staff is friendly and helpful. The starter is arrogant and unreasonable !!
Good place for round of golf
Enjoyed the round of golf. The water hazards presented challenges and course management is important. One hole with dogleg to the left is interesting, layup rrquires longer shot than fisrt anticipated. Will make a difference when playing the course again. Certainly enjoyed the course and will play again.

Great value
As with all of the public courses in Southeast FL- this one also gets a lot of play. The conditions are better than most that I have seen. They also seem to stay on top of the pace of play at bit more at this course. Greens were in nice shape and seemed to roll quickly- especially once the sun got on them for an hour or so.
We finished our 18 holes in less than 4 hours but we started early in the morning.
I would definitely recommend giving this course a try- it is a great value but it is a short course.. bring your wedges.

Would not play this course again , fairways are horrible very hard green were great , course layout was the ridiculous par 4 dog leg left had to hit a 58 degree wedge layup and hit a 8 iron into the green with so signage any where , had two rounds booked there that day and after the first round we left to play Inverrary in ft lauderdale which was absolutely a great experience for the same price as Southwinds.
Just what I needed
After not playing in over 4 months, this course, the layout & price was just what I needed to get some of my game back. Staff was very efficient & helpful. Enjoyed the experience.
