About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

Southwinds
Recently played a round at Southwinds. Interesting and challenging layout.
Some holes require a planned layup or a long carry!
Would recommend.
It’s ok
Nothing special. Conditions are never really optimal. This is a county course and plays like one. Older slower paced crowd. That said for the money it’s not a bad place to practice. Scoring doesn’t really matter after your ball hits a tree root in the fairway and bounces wherever. It’s also short and an easy walk.

I like this course. Good layout, challenging yet not extreme. Good condition overall. Always enjoy playing here. One of the better courses in the area. Well worth playing.

Excellent course and layout. Friendly staff. A few tough holes, particularly the 18th, but it's all good.

Not a bad course.
This is not a bad course for what I paid. The course is shot compare to other courses ( 5,900 yards). It is challenging with water on every hole except one. I would play there more often if it was not to far from my house (50 minutes).
You hit the nail on the head. Southwinds isn't the longest course in town, but it will make you think all the way around and the greens are always solid. Thanks for making the close to an hour drive to spend the day with us. If we could move the course closer to you we would! ;)

Rained Out after the 14th
Fun course for practicing. It is short but by no means easy. Enjoyed it. If it didn't rain I would have enjoyed it more.
As you said, we're not the longest track in town but we will make you think all the way around. We will do the anti-rain dance next time we see you on the tee sheet!
Beware last hole
First, second hole and last are not easy. But rest is OK.must be careful and ready.
Don't be fooled by the yardage on the scorecard. If you're not on top of your game, Southwinds can show its teeth. Thanks so much for the five-star review!

Southwinds may not be the longest golf course in Palm Beach County, but it sure will make you think the whole way around. Turing your brain off for even one shot can cost you. Having said that, if you play the course properly, you can really go low.
