Southwinds Golf Course
About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

Solid Golf Course
I have played this course a few times this summer and find it to be a great value. Its a fairly straight forward course, but with just enough to make it difficult. The fairways are wide, and the greens are big, but the bunkers and water are well placed to make sure the golfer has control. The course was very well kept, which is difficult in the heat of the summer.
Above average course, questionable rule
Tee time of 1:07, and as the weather was borderline we arrived one hour early. Noone on the first tee, but on check-in the desk wrote "GolfNow 1:07" and we were not allowed to start until 1:07. We sat watching the first tee, and no-one came. We only finished 13 holes before the thunder clouds drove us home. It is off-season and this rule makes no sense.
great practice course
Great course for a quick round play further back green / blue for a challenge it's always a nice game there
the course is in good shape
you price this time of year are great as the course
Nice little course
Par 70 and lots of fun! I've passed here often but never played until now and boy am I glad I did. I had s great time. Lots of challenges from a variety of tees. I'll definitely be back. Well worth the price.
A fun course
Offers dog legs and water. Bunkers left a lot to be desired but overall it was a fun course to play.
Great First Experience
Played there for the first time and i will for sure play that course in the near future.
Toujours excellent !
This course is very interesting to play
I would play that course any more with a great pleasure
Good Course
Layout is interesting. A lot of the holes make you think off the tee. Overall course was in good shape and the greens putted well. Will definitely play this course again.
Where's the grass?
Good course , fairways very thin better lies in the ruff
Layout of a few holes questionnable
Course in good condition. However some holes should be redesigned. Hate having to tee off on Par 4 or 5 with short irons, in particular on a windy day.
Short but challenging
Nice little course . Played it on a Monday afternoon.weather was nice. Got paired up with a nice couple from Toronto. The water crossing the fairways is well placed , so thinking your way around this one is a must . Putts were rolling true.Driving the ball straight is a must. overall was a very good day of golf and will definitely try to play this one again.
A Good Value and A Decent Track
The greens are good here and the fairways are also decent. Short to medium hitters will enjoy it; but it's short, only 6,000 from the gold tees. A few of the holes are a bit wonky due to water crossing the fairways, especially #18.
Enjoyable round
My friends and I enjoyed our 18 holes of golf at Southwinds. For a muni course it was in very good condition and the greens were slick but fair.
It's not a grip it and rip it course. You have to play positional golf which I find to be more interesting and challenging.
Well maintained grounds
I would recommend playing this course and I would play it again, as well. Though the course is short, from the tips it is just over 6,000 yards, to make it challenging there is plenty of water to contend with between forced carries and lateral water. Greens ran true from hole to hole and the fairways were in excellent shape and the rough was cut to a reasonable height. Distances to the water line where forced carry applied was marked in the tee box area, for those of us without that GPS feature.
Thoroughly enjoyable
The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The course, although not overly difficult, was perfect for a player of my modest ability,, and challenging enough to offer me a very pleasant afternoon.
