About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

Nice basic course
There was a lot of water on th course and that made the course look fine. From white too short for women, recommend ladies to play from green.
Nice Course
Generous fairways with a number of holes with water.The greens are in good condition and somewhat fast.

Good course lousy crowd
Course was good. The locals don't know much about golf etiquette though. Both groups in front of me were driving the carts on to the fringe of the greens. And they were playing pretty slow. There was no ranger to correct either problem.

Excellent condition. Good value for money
Great course. Excellent value for your money. Good pace, not too much waiting and most of all the cheapest beer and free popcorn.

Short and tricky
A rather short course that requires good course management. Lots of water strategically placed throughout. Greens roll fast and true.

Well maintained, fun little course
Definitely plays very short, but a fun little course in great shape. Greens are very nice and consistent.

Good course
The course was in great shape even with all of the rain we've been having. Some of the greens were exceptionally fast but over all very fair.
The staff was friendly and the facilities are excellent.

Hot and Soggy this time of year
Course was in good shape despite all the recent rains, which is standard for this time of year. Extremely hot conditions, also standard, so stay hydrated. 90 degree rule in effect and 4 holes were cart path only due to rains.

First time visit
Very good course, well maintained and supervised. Friendly Staff, one of whom warned us about characteristics of the first hole as he learned it was our first visit.
Recommended.
To improve: a nice addition would be installing GPS in the golf carts.

You May Be Punished for Booking with GolfNow!
Arrived about 25 minutes early and checked in. I want to note that no one was going out, on the first tee box, or in the 1st fairway that I could see. Was told I was to play with 3 other guys who hadn't arrived yet. Fine. Go out and starter/bag guy says I can go. I told him the guy inside said I had to wait. My mistake for being honest. He says "oh ok, you better wait then." Sat in my cart 15 minutes waiting and two of the guys show up and go in. They don't come back out and after 10 minutes it's my tee time so I head up to the 1st tee. The starter/bag guy jumps in a cart and runs me down! Says "Hey, I thought you said you'd wait!" Told him I had waited, no one was moving, and it was my tee time. He said "Well, you booked through GolfNow so you have to go out with the guys that booked that same tee time only. The guy inside won't let anyone booking with GolfNow do anything else." So now the two other guys are outside waiting and we all sit another 10 minutes which is 10 minutes PAST my tee time. Starter/bag guy finally says go. No sooner do we leave than he's yelling that he thinks the last guy just pulled in the parking lot... I'm not kidding.
Apparently talking to the 1st two guys I played with this is common for the one guy that works there. They told me other guys have let them out when it was slow like it was but the one guy won't. Management needs to address the one guy then I guess. You book thru GolfNow and take your chances, or arrive right at your tee time and no earlier, or find other places to play. Which is what I'll do. I could have been let out on my own and finished at least an hour earlier without bothering anyone. But I was punished for booking thru GolfNow.
Shame, because otherwise it was a pretty nice place.
I would love to hear from course management on this if they ever wish me to play here again.
We apologize that yo had a less than pleasant experience at Southwinds, especially with our staff and customer service. While it is the practice of management to have all players play at the assigned times, there are situations and circumstances which warrant flexibility.
Our management will speak with all staff members regarding customer service and situations where exceptions can be made, if possible, to better serve our customers. Please be assured, it is our policy to treat all times the same whether booked through GolfNow, the course website or any other tee time service.

Great Course
Very well kept public course. In good shape almost everytime I play. Wasn't lucky with the group in front of me. They were very slow but that's usually not a problem here.
Excellent course
It was our first time playing there.
We intend to play there again, by GOD's Grace.
Course is OK but a too tight for me.
There are so many better choices in the area. I play here only when I get a 'bargain price or my golf buddies ten to like it and I go along. I will always lose at least 3 or 4 balls every round here and I'm a pretty good player. Also more than it's share of beginner and very old golfers slowing things down.
Afternoon golf
Enjoyed the afternoon of golf on the South Winds course. Some of us enjoyed more than others but someone has to buy the lunch. We will definitely be back soon.
Dead car battery needed jump!
As always had a good round of golf.. But today when I was done my car was dead and the staff was all aces !! They offered a jump and great advise !! Thanks guys!!
Solid Golf Course
This course is a great course for the money. It is well kept and gives players just enough challenge to keep golf fun.

Currently, the course does not have designated men's or ladies' tees as we suggest players to determine what distance best matches their handicap and skill. As such, our course definitely is one that awards accuracy more than distance in shot selection. We will work with our starters to have them remind golfers of this and appreciate your comments concerning it.
