About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

The course has beautiful greens ,
Great course very challenging , the water can cause you trouble if your not careful. But overall nice course.
Good Fun
We played this course yesterday and had a nice round. The staff was friendly and helpful, the conditions were quite good for January. Greens were quick but consistent. Fairways were in fine shape. The course itself is challenging and fun for any skill level, without being discouraging for higher handicappers.
BEST KEPT SECRET
The course is a short par 70, but it is very nice. Well kept and challenging. The fairways are tight and the positioning of trees and water hazards makes it a must play or must play again. I never heard of this course, just happen to see it on Golf Now and we took a chance and drove up to play. Glad we did!!
1st Monday in January
Greens are pretty good
will play again-pace of play very slow.
Nice public venue
Staff was very nice,. But pace of play was very slow. We only got 10 holes in before we left.

Many holes are chalanging nice lay out.Greens are nice and fast.
Watch out for water.
You have to know your club lenghts for the water is in play on many holes, otherwise the sand traps are very much in play on every hole.
Very challenging course!
Southwinds GC is a very challenging course. It has few Par 5's which make the Par 4's and Par 3's rather longer than other courses. Bring your "A" game if you wiish to score low! This course can get to you but it's a course that you'll want to go back.
Very pleasant course
We have played this course several times and always found everything very satisfactory. The staff is helpful and the course conditions are very good.
Great deal being December in South FLA
The Gnow price was fantastic during this time of the year. The greens were in their usual very good shape. Downhill putts are going to roll. Many golfers might not like the very tight fairway lies you will see, but during the winter season here that is not unusual. Remember extra golf balls. You can find water on 16 of the holes.
Fun course
This is not the longest of courses, but it's great for the average golfer. Helpful staff, good conditions, and pretty good pace of play especially for a weekend. You really need your course management skills and a GPS. There a number of hazards, some which you don't see from the tee or on your second shots. So check the course layout. Overall we had fun and will definitely play there again.
Rude pro shop
Bag guys were friendly but the guy behind the counter was rude and inconsiderate.
As for the course, too many holes with water crossing the fairway. Many narrow fairways and windy conditions made for a no fun outing.
Southwinds
It was a very nice course to play, it was well-maintained in the fairways and on the greens. Design of the hazards were placed to make play challenging as well as fun.The staff was overall very friendly. Management made the staff hold any golfnow players to their exact tee time even at the course was wide open.I played there two times. I would recommend it to anyone it is a great course.
Tight Course
Very tight course with water in play on almost every hole. Greens are fast and will test your putt game.
Good Value and condition for Municipal Course
There is a lot of water on this course but if you know your distances staying dry is not a big problem. Not overly long even from the back tees. Greens were running about 10 this day and rolling true. A nice course if you are in Palm Beach county/Boca Raton area and want to play a round in 4 hours or less.

Super nice experience, nice conditions and nice people...
Nice course and a good time.
Everything went well. Got to tee off on time and it only took about 3 and a half hours. The fairways and greens were in very good condition. We had a good time.
Excellent yet challenging
Southwinds I rate as a gem of a course. Provides challenging narrow tee shots, wide and narrow approach shots, over water hazards. The course layout provides for a relaxed course of play with friends. Hands down with HolfNow rates this course is a must play for any golfer.
inconsistent greens
Greens were inconsistent, shaggy, and still recovering from being punched and sanded.
Overall I would play again because of cheap green fee.
Not a long course, can leave the driver at home.
