About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

the greens were recently popped, but they are now grown in and are wonderful
for the $$$, this place cant be beat !!! the greens are nice
Great Overall Course For Your Money!
Course is well maintained and staff is very friendly. Group of 2 finished in less than three hours playing from the gold tees and we weren't rushing. Water hazards are present on 16 out of 18 holes but as long as you're straight with your drives water is not a factor, 2 holes you need to select a long iron or fairway wood rather than driving as water is in the fairway about 230-250 out.
Course was in great shape even though it had rained for many day prior to our round
Location is great, staff was really nice, only issue was the rain as we only got through 13 holes and no rain check. The golf course was in really good shape until the real heavy rain came and it could not drain fast enough to continue play. I will be back to play this course again.
Great Value
For the price, you can't beat it. The staff is extremely friendly and the pace of place was solid. There are enough hazards to make you pay for bad shots, but overall the course is fairly forgiving. Big fast greens in very good shape.
A pretty target golf course well maintained and conveniently located for those of us nearer the ocean.
The grounds keeping was much improved from when I last played about a year ago and the course is visually appealing. A lot of challenging target golf and you should put driver away on several par 4s. A couple holes might be regarded as contrived but overall a very satisfying round
Nice course
Make sure you pay attention to hidden water on several of the holes. There are markers at the tee's that tell distance to and over the water.
Good tight layout
Course is a par 70 that plays 6000 yds from the back tees, tight with plenty of water. Greens had been punched about 3 weeks ago other than that course was in good shape.
We always try to play this course when in Boca Raton.
An interesting and enjoyable course, at a reasonable price.
Great price with Golfnow booking
This course is a little shorter, but is challenging because of all the water surrounding the holes. Greens were in good shape. Clubhouse has great deals on beverages.

Water Heaven
Lots of water... Bring many extra balls! Very nice design, beautifull landscape, excellent course. Golfers could work a bit on their tolerance level. We played 18 holes whitin 4:00 hours and players behind us were pushy; even got the marshall involved!! Golf etiquette sirs!
Surprising Challenging from back tees...very good condition.
Hadn't played here in a number of years, so when I great rate was offered I gave it a try. While only 6000 yards from the back tees, it feels longer. The fairways have either water or trees on both sides. Paid dearly for my fades/sliced shots off the tee. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were good. While this course is not on the top of my list, it is definitely worth playing for the right price.
Good challenging trying to escape water
Good distance, nice path, great challenge and very good conditions overall especially the greens. On top of that, very reasonable price. I'll return for sure.
opening first couple of holes could be a littlte tough
Course can use some work and would be real enjoyable to play for average golfer. Would play it again for the right price

Played at a nice pace, no issues with conditions- fast,consistent greens - had a great time
This course is a typical Municipal course, too many golfers for the facility.
This was the first time I played here, the tee times were 7 minutes apart and we waited on the course the entire day. What should have been a 3 to 3 1/2 hr round took 4 3/4 hrs.
The course was just OK, too short for me, not enough challenge for the long game.
I don't think I will be back.

Very short course with 6018 yards on the gold tee,the layout is interesting with a lot of water and OB,if you play with a slice...good luck baby,loll.
