About
Situated just minutes from the Gold Coast beaches in the heart of Boca Raton, Southwinds Golf Course enjoys warm ocean breezes and lush vegetation. Water is a prominent presence throughout the course. Water hazards come into play on 16 holes. There are also mature trees throughout that will play a deciding role in shaping your shots. The golf course offers some enjoyably difficult holes but overall the challenges are manageable. Each hole is unique offering everything from opportunities to "grip it and rip it" and others that are defined by trees and lakes. The golf course finishes with one of its many water holes but on this par 4, you have to hit over water twice. In addition to the golf course, Southwinds also offers a driving range a putting green with a practice bunker.

I was surprised and very happy with the friendliness of the staff and the state of the course from the very beginning through to the end. I will definitely be going back!
Short course that tends to play "bigger"...
This County course is only 5800 or so from the tips.
Add in the wind and some tight holes, and tricked up #1 hole,
and it becomes a challenge. Bad idea to try and over power
it by slamming driver on some of the dogleg par 4's that are only 330 yards or so. The rough is no piece of cake. This course takes thinking and being in position, and only hitting 210 yard tee shots in places so you have a full 110 yard approach and a full shot, not a 65 yard touch shot. I will go back, #18 is neat too, go to the tips and see how tight it looks!

I would tell you all that this course is magnificent, especially for its price, but then you'd all come to my favorite little gem and I would have to wait and wait.....

Good Balance
Southwinds is a relatively short course, which I like since I am not a power hitter. Lots of water and more trees than some courses in South Florida. Good balance between being challenging, but not unbeatable.
the foos is loose
First time playing this course. Has a different layout, some forced carry. Greens were in great shape. I will definitely play here again.
