South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club

Perfect for those retired that have no where to go and can't the ball too far. I played South and East. Greens were running about a 6 -

3 holes were better designed for frisbee golf! Huge doglegs, directional markers that were not visible from the greens. Maybe fun if you would play a three club challenge.

We arrived only to find our reservation was not in their system. This is more likely a GolfPass issue. I showed them the confirmation email and they got us out on the course. They were apologetic and helpful. So I give the staff 5 stars.

But the course conditioning is poor. The fairways inconsistent turf, 50% weeds. The greens were very bumpy. I’d pay $60 max for that golf experience. One star for the golf.

Very nice course...we played East and North. The #1 handicap is a challenge with a narrow fairway between water on both sides. The other holes were very fair on both courses. North course requires "course management" with an interesting/strategic layout. The fairway and rough grasses were very professional groomed and easier for iron/wedge shots than many other courses in Florida. Staff was great...very friendly and welcoming.

The blues yardage is deceptive as to difficulty . The 4th hole on north tee box shoot was impressive

Course was in good condition and enjoyed the layout. Challenging with water on many holes. Greens were in good shape.

I am puzzled by positive reviews of this course. Honestly, it is not worth paying more than about $60 and we paid $130. Tee boxes were full of weeds and not properly cut. Fairways were similar. Hard and lacking proper maintenance. Greens were slow and bumpy. Very disappointed. On the positive side, the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Golf in FL this time of year is expensive. Course was in reasonably good shape. Staff was friendly and very attentive. Place of play was slow. Should not take 4 3/4 hours to play 18 holes.
