Echelon Golf Club

At first glance this course seems daunting. But if you striking the ball well it rewards you throughout. The greens were tough today. Really tough. But I thoroughly enjoyed my round.

I will say that the last two times I’ve played here the staff behind the counter are not overly friendly. The gentleman at the bar/restaurant is great, offered several times to make me a quick breakfast sandwich. Thanks.

First time playing this course. One of the best courses I have played in the metro Atlanta area! Lots of elevation changes, especially on the back nine. Very picturesque!! Fast, undulated greens, but rolled true! Will definitely be back to play this gem again!

The course was in very good shape and the pace of play was good.

They do not allow non members to practice chip shots and sand shots before a round. It is roped off.

Definitely effected my days a my chipping was the weak spot in my game today. Most courses allow me a chipping area before play.

Course was in excellent shape. Pins were set in diabolical places and there are some very challenging holes. Beautiful layout and very nice amenities.

Overall my favorite golf course in the area. Green la looks great , a little slower than normal probably bc of rain.

Fairways are growing in nicely.

Teamed up with some fun players.

Staff is the best around. Always friendly, welcoming.

Early in the year and the greens are already very well maintained. The fairways are filling in and very playable. This course is hard, no joke, it is very challenging. I enjoyed the experience but just know that a handicap on this course is meaningless. Amazing views, quiet surroundings and I will be back for more!

Course was in great condition. Driving range was temporarily closed.

Very limited options for bathrooms or drink options on course (no liquor sold except at club house). But overall was a great experience. Greens ran extremely well for having just rained the night before and course drained really well. Pro Shop is severely overpriced on their items but I always enjoy playing here.

I had a good time playing this course but it is not an easy place to play(not that there are any). I wouldn’t recommend this course for beginners or high handicap players.

I’d like to play it again after the grass gets better and the weather gets warmer!

Played in just over 4 hours which considering the challenge the course presents isn’t bad.

Hit a drive on a severely up hill fairway ball rolled back over 100 yards from center of fairway. A ball rolling off a green I can see, but hitting a ball 285 down the sprinkler line and having it roll straight back, ridiculous. One par 5 on the back is impossible to hit in 3 shots unless you have a perfect layup and still have a really long 3rd. Fairway is uphill enough that it takes distance out of drive., no way to reach green in two, takes a perfect lay up before ravine to get there in 3. Cart path only although course was bone dry. When I asked about it the pro shop said they had an inch of rain two days earlier.

$100 to play an afternoon round. Range was a disaster. Balls are old and well worn and there’s no grass anywhere on the range.

Course itself was not in great shape. Greens were good, but everything else was shaggy. The bunkers were empty. Almost NO sand. Never raked. Big valleys where water had run in the bunkers (apparently from the one inch deluge days earlier).

Overall. It’s a hike to get there from anywhere. It’s expensive - overpriced. The range, course, and bunkers are in terrible shape and even though this insanely hilly course was dry they had it setup for cart path only.

Played this course a number of times last year. They struggle with conditions in areas after rain, but this time the entire course was awful. The fairways are full of grass clippings washed into small ridges. Entire patches of fairways are just mud. Driving range is mostly sand. Greens and sand traps were surprisingly just ok. Unusually the sand traps are a huge mess after rains, but only half of them were that bad this time. They seemed to be working on them.

Always a good time at echelon. Course conditions are always top notch. Tee boxes are pristine. Greens are fast and true. They actually have a cart girl that makes rounds around the course. Saw her 4 times at least. Always recommend.

This course never disappoints. The greens were fast and consistent, fairways were in great shape despite the rain multiple days before, and tee boxes were good. (Hole 17 was only one in rough condition but it doesn’t get sunlight) Can’t beat the views especially on the back 9. Can’t wait to play here again.
