First time at Heron bay
I had heard good things about Heron Bay from other Golf Now players and it didn't disappoint. The course was in great shape, the greens were very good, though I had trouble adjusting to the speed. I will definitely return!
5.5 Hour Round
I don’t usually leave reviews for courses, but this round was inexcusable. The whole round was incredibly slow, from waiting 15 minutes past our tee time on the first hole to leaving after 15 hole after playing the first 14 in over 4 hours.
The worst part of all is after the round, I was told the course can’t do anything about the pace of play so don’t expect a Marshall to speed it up at all. Not what I would expect from this price level course.
Besides that, course is a fun layout and in decent conditions except for the bunkers which were a bit beat up from rain.
Mud bunkers and very small selection at the bar
I played on a Thursday. With no significant rain in the last few days prior there should be no reason for standing water or mud in every bunker. Like they hadn’t been touched in weeks.
Herron Bay
I've played this years ago and haven't seen it in awhile. The course was in the best shape I've ever seen it in. The greens are fast but fair. Will gladly come back

Member from 2004-2024 first time playing it since I moved away. Course is in great shape and had a very enjoyable round!!!
Good conditions, fun layout
Conditions are great in august, fun course layout that you can't get into too much trouble with a wayward tee shot. My only wish is if they had a cart girl/guy because once you're on the course there's no water coolers to be found, and in Georgia summers you definitely need it.
Solid course in great condition
Nothing but good things to say about this course. From tee box to green conditions are excellent. Very challenging. I do wish they had more water stations on the course
One of my favorites
Love this course. Not brutally hard but not close to being easy. I Need easy. Plenty long even from the senior tees with fast greens and just the right amount of water hazards(my opinion). It being 20 minutes from work doesn't hurt either.

difficult course for sure, i think the slope rating was pushing 140 -- im usually in the low 80s and shot 90, sadly. very nice layout though, thick rough, definitely keep it on the fairway. bunkers were in good condition, as were the fairways and greens. not sure if range balls are extra, we didnt get any but found leftover baskets on the range for warmup. for $50 cant complain. nice people too.

A great experience
The staff at the clubhouse is very friendly and helpful. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are in excellent shape. I would highly recommend this course to all skill level players.
Good find south of Atlanta - course was in great shape. Looks like the greens were aerated maybe two weeks ago but they’re in good shape now. Ashamed to say it but the bunkers were in really good shape
