Manatee Golf Course

I have been playing Manatee for many years and this is the best condition I have seen. My only regret is that the cost has gone up considerably in the last 2 years.

I have played at Manatee twice a week for the past several years. I want to commend the new management for the effort they have made, which seems to me to have been lacking in the past, to improve the course. And for the first time ever, the bathrooms on the course were clean and well supplied. I know it is early in the season but I hope the course continues to look good and play well through the spring. Considering the price of a round, good course conditions and amenities are a must.

The round at Manatee was ok. We had to wait the first 9 holes for every shot. The main reason being the crazy fact that the tee times are in 7 minutes interval. This will only cause worse experience for the guests. Please fix this (it should be 9 min minimum) and this round would have been a 4 or 5 star experiences and then I would recommend the course to a friend for sure.

Booked a late morning weekend round as a twosome. Arrived to find the course was almost empty as the weather forecast called for a 90% chance of rain. However, it never rained a drop during our entire round. We could have gone out as a twosome but paired up with another twosome and finished our round in less than four hours. Conditions were much improved since we last played here, with the greens being top notch. Staff members Terri (inside/register), Bill (carts) and Cindy (snack bar) were all friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this course and look forward to returning soon.

When checking for tee times near me, this is my first stop.

The course is in good shape considering the fact that 2 hurricane passed through. Clean up is still underway and will be for a while. There were a lot of trees destroyed but only the large stumps remain and do not come into play .

Greens are in good shape, as are most of the fairways.

Staff has always been friendly. Pace of play ok. Had a slow foursome in front of us. The Marshall kept on top of them the best he could.

Only complaint i have is no water stations on the course ir a cart person. Other than that we really enjoyed the day!

Manatee Golf Course is a county property. We’ve been playing there for years. A few years ago, conditions had deteriorated so much that we stopped playing. About three years ago, the county changed management companies and things began to improve. Gradually the course came back to being respectable. This year, the conditions have taken another big step forward. Recent reseeding, combined with limiting carts on fairways for a while, has paid off, and the fairways are filling in with green grass, the greens are smoothing out and rolling nicely, and even the tee boxes are getting green, but still reflect the type of play which a county course attracts. Pace of play can be spotty, ranging from good to awful, depending on the luck of the draw. There is no starter, only the cart barn attendant, and no regular ambassador on the course. Several twosomes can back up behind a slow foursome, and many inconsiderate players drive carts everywhere. However, yesterday, we played 18 in 3 hours 15 minutes, so no complaints, but as a former golf course ranger and lifelong advocate of proper golf etiquette, playing behind two young guys who drove their cart within a couple of feet of greens and directly across areas plainly marked “No Carts” left me a bit frustrated. Overall, the greens crew deserves kudos for what they are doing to make the course a very enjoyable place to play.
