Manatee Golf Course

Made a late T-Time (3:50) in order to just have fun on my birthday with my girlfriend. When I made the reservation, I was going to be a single. When I checked in, I told the staff that my GF was going to ride along. He accused me of trying to scam him saying that she was going to play and I was trying not to pay for her. He said it would be $50 for her even though I only paid $35 online. I ended up making a second reservation online and it was strongly the 2 for that tee time.

After hitting balls on the range, I went to the cart area to get a cart at about 3:40. There was a line of people waiting on carts. I got my cart at 4:35. And when the cart guy saw that my GF was riding along, he asked if they had charged me the $18 rider fee. Guess who got scammed.

Well the pace of play was so slow that we got 4 holes in before dark.

Not happy and will not play there ever again.

Very nice public course with good fairways and greens. However, it took 2 hours and 45 minutes just to play the front side. Luckily, several groups quit or we would have had a 6 hour round. They desperately need a Marshall on the course and tee times 7 minutes apart is too little.

We arrived a half our early for our 12:01 tee time. There was no one on the first tee so we checked with guy at cart barn as there was no starter at the first tee. Guy yells at us saying the tee times prior to noon were for premium paying customers and we’d have to wait. No one showed up and first two holes were open. Shortly before noon no golfers had teed off for 30 minutes. Two other guys show up and then a third, all claiming to have the same 12:01 tee time as us. One of the three checked with cart guy who told them they could tee off and that we actually had a 12:08 We then asked the cart guy why the others got to tee off ahead of us. He yelled at us that our tee time was 12:01 and to go tee off. Not a fun way to start a round of golf. The cart/starter guy was beyond rude. Needless to say we will not be back to play this overpriced course.

My only complaint would be pace of play. Tee times way too close together. Waited 2-5 mins on most every shot. 20 minutes average on each hole. Was on pace for a 6 hr round but left after 5 hrs through 15 holes. Where are the rangers at the courses around here. I’ve yet to play anywhere where they do anything but ride around.

I’ve been in Florida for a month now and it was the sloooowest round of my life 5 hours and twenty minutes will not go back way over booked and short on carts 👎

My poor rating is a result of staff being rude. Our tee time was changed from what our reservation with Golf Now so they could pair us up. This is fine but the individual who gave us the cart yelled at us because we were late. Our reservation was for 10 minutes later. He said you belong on tee box. We get to tee box and the starter said your late and you are supposed to be in the middle of the fairway now with the other 2 golfers. He said we could go now or get squeezed in somewhere. We chose to tee off to catch up with the other 2. So the starter is waving his arms at us and yelling to just go. Which we did.

This whole issue was a result of switching tee times to get a foursome and not notifying us. The staff was just rude and blaming us for being late. It was quite embarrassing..

The Course was in good condition and the staff members were friendly and helpful. Pace of play was slow, but the weather was beautiful and we had a fun time.

I played here about 5 years ago but never came back because it wasn’t better enough to justify the long drive. Now it is much nicer, proven by my playing 2 days in a row and driving an hour each way. Thumbs up!

Spacing tee times at 7 minute interval should be changed to 10 minutes. Current tee time intervals lead to 5+ hour rounds.
