Poston Butte Golf Club
About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Not impressed
Fairway had bare areas and mud throughout the course.
Greens were bumpy-looking like waffles.
Definitely off season conditions.
10 Handicap & 5th time playing here
Start of by saying I know summer conditions aren't as good. However, this was my 5th time playing here and conditions were not great. Greens were Super slow, about a 7 for speed. Fairways have tons of bare dirt. Tee boxes were fine. Bunkers in good shape. Layout is fun. Worst condition I've ever seen a troon course. Hopefully they get conditions to improve cause its rough. Few other courses in the valley are cheaper and in better shape right now.
Bad shape and overpriced.
Dirt fairways, fuzzy bumpy greens. Should be $30 to play this place not $65. Not worth the hour drive to have dirt and mud lies in the center of the fairway.
Great course, slow players
Overall course was amazing, loved the look, heat was insane but we managed. For the time we had it was a good price. However my group of four had to wait multiple times for many groups who were playing slow in front of us. We would finish our hole head to the next one and they would only then be teeing off, were able to play through two different groups but still got stuck behind one group of three who refused to let us play through despite us catching up to them on each hole for five different holes till the end. Do wish there was someone to go and tell them to play faster or skip a hole since they were holding people up. Other than that great course.
Escape the honey-do list
I escaped the honey-do list and snuck out for a quick round. The starter was very helpful in pointing out some ways to make the round better - but I can't execute that well! Haha! Played black tee boxes and finished shooting an 81. Was happy with the round for a first time effort! Range in great shape, course overall in really good shape. I liked that the homes that line the course are all well off the fairway, giving the course a more open feel
Great Day tough greens.
The greens had been aireated and sanded. Kind of slippery
Terrible greens
The greens are absolutely terrible, remains me of worn out 1980 shag carpet.
