Bartram Trail Golf Club
About
Bartram Trail Golf Club in Evans is situated just minutes from Augusta National. Despite the fame of its neighbor, Bartram Trail stands out for being Columbia County's only public golf course. It has a location next to Patriot's Park that provides forests of mature hardwoods and pine trees that were fully utilized in the design. The scenic and well preserved landscape of the golf course includes rolling hills, natural wetlands, and the meandering Euchee Creek. The dedication to preserving the beauty of the terrain earned the course certification as an Audubon International Wildlife Sanctuary. Although the hills, trees, and wetlands present some formidable challenges, Bartram Trail Golf Club was designed with playability in mind as well. There are some tricky holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

A good course
The course sees a good deal of play which can be a good thing. However, there were LOTS of unfilled divots throughout the course. But, given the recent cold weather for this area, not too surprising. The greens were running very nice and seemed to hold up well under the amount of play.
A great gem
Love playing Bartram. Had friends in from TX and wanted to treat them to a round of golf. Despite it being 48 degrees and wet we had a blast. Greens are always spot on. The grounds crew does an amazing job with maintaining this course. Will certainly be back and inviting others to play.
Bartram Trail
Course I play about twice a month when I get the chance. Layout is forgiving if you keep it in play bur does have hazards on each hole. Dormant conditions now so could only give a good rating but summer months its great here. Greens are smooth and very fast. Some crazy pin positions today all on humps or sidehills. In particular #10 back left. Tough hole with a medium size green that really only has a couple of fair pin positions and this was not one of them. Group I was in I thought I watched two good shots, one a putt and one a chip just barely get to the hole and then proceed to run off the green down a 20 foot hill? Luckily I three putted for bogey just barely staying on the green. Watched group behind us from 11 tee and got a good laugh as both players putted right off the green. Great course and a good number can he had if you play decent. Greens were great today. Recommend.
Another good round
Greens were in perfect condition, rolled true. Always enjoy the layout particular since they have gone back to starting on the original front side.
Great Course!
Love Bartram! Fun and Challenging. They always keep it in great condition and the greens are A+.
Great greens, great value
I played 18 in the morning and liked it so much that I played another 18 that afternoon. Course was in great shape, but the greens in particular were fantastic. Fast, smooth and true. I talked to a greenskeeper who said they cut and roll them every day and it showed.
About half the holes have houses on them, but the other half feel like you are in the wilderness, surrounded by trees and nature. The holes that do have houses on them, the houses do not come into play - you have to be really wild off the tee. Also, mercifully, some areas that would normally be marked OB at other courses are marked as a lateral hazard making it possible to drop as opposed to re-teeing.
The course has a lot of beautiful elevation change to go with the trees.
The fairways are wide with plenty of space on either side before getting into the junk. Likewise there is a lot of space around every green complex. There are only 12 bunkers, but the lack of bunkers didn’t take away from the difficulty or beauty of the course. Keeping bunkers to a strategic minimum speeds up play and keeps costs down. A lot of courses should take their cues from Bartram Trails in this regard.
Lastly, the greens are where it’s at on this golf course. If they were slow or flat, it wouldn’t be as good a course - still fun, but not what it is.
I played it the next day with my 8 year old - they have a set of junior tees which are perfect for young golfers.
bottom line - can’t wait to play it again.
Nice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this course, I just can't play it alot unless of specials. If you use a GPS golfbuddy of sort, you have to set it on 10th hole to get the readings on hole # 1.
Fun Course
This is a fun and challenging course. Greens are rolling fast but I enjoyed my round. I look forward to my next round.
Great Course
First time playing. Course in great condition for end of October. Pace of play good and greens very fast. Course is one hour drive, but well worth it. Will definitely be going back.
Slow Play
Took over 4 1/2 hours for my twosome to play a round due to slow play in front of us (played the front 9 in an hour and a half). A ranger would be helpful.
