The golf course at Deer Run Country Club, which was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2003, utilizes its natural terrain of sparkling lakes and towering trees to create a picturesque and challenging layout. The golf course is also known for the immaculate conditions of its greens and fairways, which provide excellent putting surfaces. Deer Run Country Club features strategically placed sand traps, numerous doglegs, and water comes into play on several holes. The golf course, while challenging, is appealing to casual golfers and beginners for the beautiful setting and enjoyable, relaxing game. Deer Run Country Club is a local favorite both for the interesting layout and affordable rates.

End of an Era
Have enjoyed this course for over 30 years and going to miss it tremendously. But one of things I'll miss the most is the phenomenal staff. From Aurturo the club pro, Robert & CJ down to the awesome chef, you've all become friends and I'm not only going to miss the course, but going to miss you guys even more. Thank you for all the great times and memories and I wish you all the very best going forward. Any course would be fortunate to have you gentleman representing it. Good luck!

Horrendous Shape
Clearly, no money has been put into the upkeep of this course for quite some time. Most green are dirt patches, making putting impossible to be fair. Fairways have more weeds than grass. It’s a shame, but I would not recommend this course to any players at any level unless the greens fees are at $5, which they are not. Will not be coming back here anytime in the next 6 months.
Poor conditon
Course is not maintained at all, weeds all over the fairway, greens are awful with patches of dirt. Overall looks rundown.
Run down and unkept
The course looked terrible. Greens were the worst. Apparently this course is closing soon. Green fees should hv been free
WOW
In orlando for a wedding brother in law and self wanted to get a round in before leaving Orlando picked wrong course greens if you could call them that hardly had any grass on them and it was mostly crabgrass Fairways oh well they were just as bad up keep of course was little to none. The one good thing is it made you appreciate our courses up here in Iowa....
Worst conditions I have ever seen
I do not plan to play here again, the conditions were terrible. Tee boxes are just weed patches. The greens are mostly just dirt looks like they have not been watered in weeks.
It’s the worst condition course I have ever played and I have played all over. If you play you will be disappointed I am sure. Back 9 used to always be very green and lush not it is even in very very poor condition.

Horrendous green!
Even though i paid a hot deal price, the course greens were terrible shape. i can’t remember when was the last time this course green was in this bad shape.

Poor Conditions
All tee boxes and most greens were in awful condition. Ponds smelled of rotten, decaying weeds.

Goodbye Deer Run.....Closed June 1
The Orlando Sentinel paper announced that Deer Run is closing June 1. It's no wonder the course conditions have been left to the elements instead of proper maintenance. Hopefully the residents living around the course can change the developer's intention of putting in over 2000 housing units. Nice knowing you Deer Run..........sad to see you go.

DeerRun needs Help Mr DelAir
DeerRun is in a great convenient location, with a challenging layout. The back9 has some awesome holes, and as one of the least expensive courses in the area, it's hard to complain .........but course conditions are atrocious. Greens are fast because they have very little good grasses & are dormant bare, mostly dirt in sand bunkers, and tee-boxes are grass-free zones. Again, the layout is good, and you can still play golf, just not pleasant to the eye. The staff is very pleasant, but course maintenance is so lacking, I give the example of an overflowing garbage basket #14 T that papers, cups & food boxes were blowing as litter into the lake. Please, Mr DelAir, give 'em some money to make nice again.

Good layout, poor conditions
I had not played this course in years and just did. Good layout but poor conditions.
- all the greens have patches of weeds and many have areas with no grass. Makes putting an adventure. When I played, the greens were extremely fast and had to putt through areas of weeds.
- side of the fairways and rough around the greens were typically filled with weeds.

Wow, Gone Downhill Big Time
Had not played Deer Run for 2 months; in the intervening period it surely seems to have gone downhill big time. Tees were terrible - weeds everywhere; fairways marginal but the worst were the greens. Totally patchy with weeds all over and mowed so short that any downhill putt was guaranteed to go 5+ feet by the hole. Not really fun to play; won't be going back soon. Will wait until I see some positive reviews.
