The golf course at Deer Run Country Club, which was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2003, utilizes its natural terrain of sparkling lakes and towering trees to create a picturesque and challenging layout. The golf course is also known for the immaculate conditions of its greens and fairways, which provide excellent putting surfaces. Deer Run Country Club features strategically placed sand traps, numerous doglegs, and water comes into play on several holes. The golf course, while challenging, is appealing to casual golfers and beginners for the beautiful setting and enjoyable, relaxing game. Deer Run Country Club is a local favorite both for the interesting layout and affordable rates.

Course needs watering.....and they are aware
I like to play this course when I can get a good Hot Deal. It's a nice layout and not typically jammed mid weekday when I like to go. Today the shop told me the course was extremely dry due to a pump being down. The fairways were not the best and the greens are in serious need of repair and water. Many weeds on the greens and missing turf along with the extremely dry greens made putting all but laughable. Greens were so fast and were not true by any means. Carts are showing their age and a cracked water jug on 14 look like they are not spending on maintenance and upkeep. I hope they get back on track. It's a nice place to play 18. I even enjoyed watching a bald eagle scoping out the retention ponds today.
Surprise speed
This was a hot deal on Golf Now and I would gladly play here anytime. The greens were very dry and extremely fast. Mix this with a very challenging course and you have for an awesome time! We enjoyed the challenge and the frustrations 100%.

We played the coarse in Dec and it was acceptable but today you could see that had deteriated. The tee boxes were very rough, mostly sand the fairways were unkempt, the sand hazards were packed hard and the greens were terrible.
We have heard that the coarse is closing or up for sale.

Needs Work
This course needs work, tee boxes more sand than grass, greens were patchy and the speed was far faster than the average golfer old handle. Overall experience was not pleasant and we probably will not return.

Love the course
Played with my wife who plays very little and she enjoyed herself. Yet the course was challlenging for me at the same time.

Will be sad to see this course go
This is one of my overall favorites. It’s convenient, fairly priced, and in okay shape. I like the layout and play here often. There are rumors they are closing this course.

COURSE DEGRADATION
During these past 3 months I have been playing Deer Run, the conditions have gone from Good to Fair to Poor.
The Tee boxes are void of grass and are dried out.
The fairways have very little grass and are dried out despite having quite a bit of rain.
The bunkers are mud holes with standing water. We actually lost a ball in on of the bunker ponds.
And lastly, the greens are al.ost totally barren of grass..
If you want to operate a golf course, get the right maintenance professionals and get them out on the course.

Great value
Course offered tee times for our group of four, with cart, meal and beverage for only $30 each. Golf course was in good shape. Greens ran true. Had a great time.

Deer run has been in better shape then it is now. Tee boxes and greens are horse. fairways are firm but not in a good way. definitely not worth the price right now.

Nice local course
Enjoyed the course but the condition of the greens
Course patches in the greens and bare spots lowered my rating.

Course not worth the drive
Was looking for something reasonably priced and with a decent review.
Obviously the last reviewers had low expectations.
Drove 1 hr to get there and would not repeat.
Nice people but course needs lots and lots of work.

Needs Work
A challenging layout made unnecessarily more difficult by poor conditions. Tee boxes sparse, especially on par 3s where irons are hit.. Greens have barren spots. Fairways are hard and dry. Due to the geography of the course this causes balls hit in the fairway to roll off left or right. Areas around the greens are dry and sparse, chipping is difficult, better off running the ball with a hybrid. Water hazards are heavy with algae. I hope conditions improve.
